Hello everybody. I'm looking for some advice from some of you who may have already done the research. First off my truck is set up with some 35x12.50R20 Toyo OC M/T's, a 4' fabtech lift as well as Firestone bags. If I'm maxing out the GVWR on my '14 crewcab 4x2 and towing around 8,000 pounds what PSI would yall recommend?

I've always been told to be close to 60 when towing that kind of weight then back down to 35-38 when not. Is 60 PSI on this set up a good idea or am I over inflating them?

I also put right around 40 PSI in my airbags when towing.

Looking for any and all advice from those who may have already done this similar search. Thanks guys

What's the load rating of your tires?

Your tires will tell you the pressure for max load right on the sidewalls. I inflate mine to 65 when I tow, if they are E rated max pressure is 80 psi.

Load Range is E with a Max PSI of 65(cold) according to the sidewalls

Must be different from each manufacturer, my E rated tires are max 80. There's a mathematical calculation you can do to know the exact psi you should run per weight. I'll see if I can dig up that thread.

no kidding. Can you take a quick snapshot of your sidewalls for us? This will be interesting if in fact his tires are LR E.

I'm thinking maybe I should go down to 55 PSI considering I'll be driving through the hot desert this week. Probably smart of me or is 60 (cold) ok???

The hot desert you will want max pressure. This helps reduce heat, which in turn is what causes blowouts.

Learn something new everyday. Thanks for taking the time out of your day to snap the pics for us.

You wouldn’t have seen the load index rating did you? It has to be 116/118 or so. 3200 lb rating is darn good though.

My tires have gone past the 65 PSI up to 68 (108 degrees outside). Is that u safe and should I take the time to get them under the 65 labeled max PSI???

The 65psi max is a cold measurement which accounts for the increase in pressure due to weather and heat. You should be fine.

For those curious thus far, while filling up (only 26gal ) at our last stop, here are some numbers or averages. LA area to Pheonix and a 9am departure time.
    MPH- 62
    Temp- 108
    MPG- 8.4
    Transmission temp- 203-208
    Batt vlt- 13.4
    Air Intake Temp- 112
    Water Temp- 195
    Truck PSI (Cold)- 60
    Trailer PSI (Cold)- 65

What do yall more experienced guys think? Should I be watching any other numbers? It's my first HOT long trip after doing a long high elevation trip two weeks ago.
