Just over 60k miles, took it in for service and they said front upper ball joints need replacing and also truck needs another front end alignment. Seems a bit early that the upper ball joints are pretty much done and will be a second alignment. I drive 90% city/highway. Stock wheels and LT275/70/18

Need a new place for you service so you don't get disservice like this.

But........have you jacked up the front end to get the front tire off the ground then grabbed it and gently shook/moved it around to see if you feel any play/movement?

My 1997 T-100 with 265,000 miles is on it's Mama Toyota upper ball joints and doing juuuuuuuust fine.

I haven't done that yet but it does look like they've leaked some grease out.

Typical issue with factory UCA. Totally normal, nothing to worry about. If it bothers you, upgrade to an aftermarket like SPC.
