So I decided to take advantage of the free shipping from Cool Spring Toyota and ordered a TRD skid plate. After I ordered, I watched a few install videos. Based on what I saw in the videos, I wondered if the skid plate from my N-Fab M-RDS bumper would cause issues. It seemed there could be some interference/clearance issue with the front of the TRD skid plate and the bottom of the N-Fab. I had already started thinking about how I would attack the issues if I ran into them.

I got the Skid plate Friday and installed today, and I'm pleased to report that, although they are very close, I didn't have any issues with the install. I didn't even have to remove the N-Fab skid plate to install the TRD skid.

The N-Fab skid is a bright Silver color, and the TRD Skid is white. I kicked the idea around of powder coating the TRD skid, but wanted to know for sure it would work with the bumper. Now, I'm thinking I might coat the N-Fab skid instead, and maybe add some red backing to the N-Fab logo. I've got some thinking to do. In the meantime, here are the pic of both skids together, and a shot of the how much (little) clearance there is between the two.

Decided to paint the N-Fab Skid plate and add some red backing for the logo.

Niceeee. That's good yours went on without issue. N-Fab must of made some updates. I have an early version of that same bumper and the TRD skid needed alot of cutting to get it on. Looks good with the new black and red color added.

Paint is still holding up. It's automotive semi-gloss spray paint from home Depot.
