The odds of both bulbs going out at the same time are pretty low. But you should only have one fuse for your low beam headlights. In the past on a (Chevy) I had a relay go out. The highbeams and fog lights would work but not the low beams. The way I checked it was by finding the relay and swapping it with my fan relay to confirm. They were the same.

there are two fuses in engine compartment one for low beam right side and one for low beam left side, both appear fine, I also tried swapping out relays to see if that would work and nothing. I guess I could try the rodent chewing the wire idea, but again what are the odds of both sides going out at the same time. Maybe I should replace the lighting stem at steering wheel ?

Sorry I was wrong about 2 fuses. I haven’t had to work on my lights yet. Have you pulled the bulbs to confirm if they look blown? I’m sure it’s possible the stem went bad. I have a fuse tester that came with a box of fuses. To test the fuses it just probes the two little contact points without even removing the fuse to check for continuity. A little light lights up if they’re good. Sometimes a fuse can be blown and look OK. Before you spend all that money check anything that is relating to headlights or running lights etc. Also check the ones inside the cabin, driver side left knee.

I have a 2009 tundra with the same problem. I have checked fuses, relays, bulbs, wiring haha everything but the switch on the steering column.

Did you ever find out why your headlights stopped working?? Please let me know if you did. Thanks so much

2002 Tundra with the same problem. I have tried switching out the relays and fuses but didn't fix it. I will try new headlamps tomorrow. Please let me know if anyone found a solution.

Yes. Incredibly, it turned out that both lights had just gone bad at the same time. I replaced the bulbs and the problem was solved. I even had a shop check the electrical for other issues. Nothing was found. Weird but happy it wasn't something worse. I hope you have a simple solutions too.

Strange they both went at the same time. I wonder if it got a little electrical surge that caused it? I guess don’t sweat it unless it happens again identically.

I had it happen. I lost one and not long after lost the other. I read up and it is actually pretty common.

I am having the same issue in my 2002 Tundra. Fog lights work, high beams work, low beams dead. I will check the fuses again but I will try some new bulbs.

I ran into the same problem this week on my '04 Tundra. Replacing the bulbs was the fix.

BTW, the reliability models associated with bulb filament wearout supports both bulbs burning out very close in time together given that they have an almost identical environmental and temperature exposure in the headlight housing. (assuming the two bulbs were replaced at the same time)

I have a 2010 Toyota tundra that both the low beam and high beam stopped working. When I get a power probe and put power to the fuses The lights come on. Fuses are good. Not sure about relays. Does the fuses come before or after the relays? Could it possibly be the light switch in the steering column?

Same problem. 2016 Tundra and I already replaced each headlight at least once with hi intensity bulbs that turned out to be just slightly brighter than the factory bulbs. With only 54k miles on, I'm taking it to the dealer and pushing warranty issue. I'll post back when they hook me up with the details

Try this for a fix. The turn signal (yellow bulb) socket plugs have a tendency to melt causing bulb to lose contact which can disrupt the circuit. The turn signal lights won't turn on with headlights but interestingly can sometimes turn on with blinker but with quick flash. Anyway, replace the turn signal socket, they are cheap, before trying anything more expensive. Replace both at the same time, will take you two minutes. Here is link to part:

Thank you for this forum. I have a 2010 Tundra and noticed my radio light on dash was out, could still operate volume on steering ..then noticed my.low beams were not working. All other lights working. I am checking fuses today and will go through the process of elimination until the culprit is found. I did replace both low beams and battery about a year ago to some apparent fancier ones...here goes nothing. I need lights ..thank you all

I had an issue with 2011 Limited where headlights won't display with full power. If I take relay 90080-87024 out and put it back in they work. I replaced it this week and everything seems to be back to normal. Is the relay for dimmer supposed to be same part number? I got truck used and not sure if someone put wrong one in. I'd like to get relay for dimmer so there is nothing old to worry about. I have 205,000 miles showing and it is still running good.
