Looking to add an Amp with two 10 inch subs to my 2017 Tundra 1794 edition.

Plan on leaving the stock head unit in

Any and all advice welcomed before I take on this little project

No problem. When I did my upgrade I bought a Kicker KX800.5, swapped out the fronts and add a 10” sub. It was a bit of a process putting all the components together and figuring out what I wanted.

    https://www.tundras.com/threads/tundratex-2016-crewmax-audio-build.7394/

This thread pretty much guided me throughout my install. The KX800.5 has built in crossovers so I didn’t need to get an AudioControl unit.

The two worst things about the factory JBL system (pre-2020) are the sub and the head unit.

The head unit was the first thing I got rid of. It was no JBL. Just a stock unit, but was no comparison to the Kenwood Excellon I have now. My advise would be to step out of the cave, and enjoy the light.

I agree with both of these.

If you have a 1794, you have JBL stock

Yeah that means you have a jbl system.
    A 5ch amp
    RF DSR1
    2 pairs of 6.5" components
And a power kit and you are good to go
