I just installed a new 2017 pro grill on my ‘19 tundra. Had the sensor zip tied for awhile and the PCS wasn’t working but I knew that would be the case. Got the AJT relocation bracket Friday and installed it. The sensor is not working (yellow light in the dash). Does it need to be recalibrated or reset somehow. Would prefer not to take it to the dealer if I don’t have to

It could be the 2017 pro grill is interfering with the sensor. I had some problems with my 2017 Pro grill and using the relocation brackets, so I switched to the 2019 Pro grill instead and now my sensor works flawlessly.

Damn; I like the look of the 2017 grill much better and I wanted color matched. I can’t get the color matched 2019 grill without paying for it to be painted. That’s about $750 between parts and paint. I unhooked the battery for awhile to see if that works. If not I really don’t NEED the PCS but also don’t like having a check light on my dash.

You can get the 2019 Pro grill with another color and swap it over to your existing color matched surround. It's still pricey, especially if you are paying for the OEM sensor cover on the 2019 Pro grill.
but at least it's cheaper than paying for another color-matched surround.

Same boat here @shawn474 , I have a 2018 and swapped to the 2017 Pro grille with the AJT bracket. The PCS and adaptive cruise work intermittently now. Plus I have a 2.5" lift in the front and 3/4" lift in the rear so that probably doesn't help either. So I've gotten used to going back to regular cruise control, and actually relying on myself to brake in time , because I like the look of my truck better with the 2017 Pro grille and my lift. I'm a touch OCD, and the yellow PCS light does drive me a little crazy too, but not enough to spend coin to go to the 2019 Pro grille.

I suppose I could do this, but I am a bit confused as there were many who said they have done the same and had no issues. My best friend is a GSM at the dealer I bought it from so he will take it and try to reprogram it to see if that makes a difference. I don’t care really except that there isn’t a way to turn it off in the 2019.....

I have the older pro grille on my 18 using a relocation bracket I bought from a member here.

I never had to reprogram after installation and it works great, zero issues in 2 years.

Member was ares but he is no longer here. The AJT bracket looks similar to mine but I'm not sure if the installation is the same.

I too have a 2017 Pro grille on my 2019 with the Jomax relocation bracket. Been working flawlessly for nearly a year - no issues at all.

Yeah it’s strange; I got a lot of feedback before I decided on it and went with it because everyone said it wouldn’t be an issue. I just disconnected my battery for a few hours so we will see if that works. If not I will either just turn it off completely or go with the 2019 grill and replace the inner piece so I can retain the color matched bulge and surround

There are lots of people who don't have any problems with the relocation brackets. There are people who do have problems.
You can see from the poll results that there are issues with the the radar sensor all over the place - some even at stock height with no modifications. Perhaps some of those issues have been resolved with the recall / software update.

I didn’t have the dash light on the way home after disconnecting the battery for a few hours.....maybe that did it. If not, I will head to the dealership this week - I am due for an oil change anyway and my buddy said he would have the tech recalibrate it. If that doesn’t work I will just turn it off completely and wait until I get the 2019 grill insert.

    In the process of de-chroming....
Here is what happened with me. New 2020CM, bought a 2019 Pro Grill and the garnish from ebay. DID NOT UNPLUG THE BATTERY. I just reached in and unplugged the sensor and popped the grill off. After I installed the PRO the PCS light was on, I tried to disconnect the battery for about an hour. I put the stock grill back on and the light would stay on. I tried the battery again. Nogo.... I got my hands on Techstream, put the pro gill on and did a reset of the pcs system in the Techstream software. instantly fixed it. I think the sensor must push some error code to the ECU that you just can't simply get rid of. I would try to get my hands on someone with Techstream and do the error reset.

Oem 2017 grill? Make sure to drive 10-15 to see if that helps the sensor adjust.

make sure PCS is on in settings
Make sure relocation bracket is installed correctly

yes; it is an oem 2017 trd pro grill. I have 25 miles on it since disconnecting the battery and no light or malfunction (although it hasn’t cued me to brake yet either). I will take it to the dealership in the next few days to recalibrate and see if that’s the issue.

I've got the '17 Pro grill on my '18. Stock height. PCS comes and goes when it's raining but otherwise works fine.

Its discussed in the Owners Manual that the PCS/radar may not function in rain, snow, etc.

Went to the dealership to get my oil changed today and the tech recalibrated the sensor. Hopefully that will take care if it. Will report back after a week or so

Good luck - sorry you had all the problems. Many on here swap the grille and use the relocation bracket with no issues (I better not say that too loud I’ll jinx it)

Did you replace your grille and having issues? There is a separate thread, but he has a sensor relocation kit that isn't manufactured any more.

Put a TRD grill with TSS garnish and started in up today drove my kids to school with no alerts. Got back in it and the PCS off alert shows (yellow) but no malfunction on screen.

Is the garnish OEM from Toyota? If the sensor cover is abnormally dirty of if its a heavy rain, that will kick it off.

Ok. I asked because some of the aftermarket garnishes are hit and miss. Most that have them end up buying the OEM to avoid or get rid of the issues.

So I got up to take my kids to school and the PCS off light was on like it has been so I decided when I got back to park as close to my garage as possible and it warned me of being to close and now the PCS off light is gone. Shut off my truck and turned it on a few time and remained off. Hopefully it will stay that way

I believe it will stay off until it senses that it has moved again as it uses distance as one of its parameters. As I mentioned, most aftermarket garnishes will consistently cause issues. The OEM is a glass type of material compared to aftermarket. That is why it is so expensive.

The PCS is a worthless piece of crap "feature" anyway, I have to shut the damned thing off every time I start the Tundra to go anyplace.
