Well that's good to hear. What was the ambient temps? I'm assuming this is with your 2019?

50-55 degrees today. Overcast. A little mist and drizzle in the valleys. It was my 2019 BTW. Still will do a back to back test this summer on that same hill with both trucks once the temps get warmer. More I read about the synthetic oils and temps of these, the less I’d worry if I owned it rather than lease. Will see this summer... for my flat lander purposes and temperate climate anyway. Stay well everyone!

I recently bought the BAFX Bluetooth OBD2 Reader then Torque Pro app, was able to get it running but not much else. I posted a thread for help and some leads brought me to this thread and OBD Fusion app. After looking around this thread I bought the Fusion app and the Toyota add-on for tranny pids, they now have the 2020 Tundra model year in the software.

Now I am hoping some of you guys can help me accomplish my goal, Ruggybuggy your post #105 is exactly what I would like to accomplish but have no idea how to. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Try setting the Tundra year to 2019. I had the some issues reading data but changing the year solve my problems.

Not sure when you got your Fusion app, but yesterday when I bought mine the most recent update was in April and 2020 was available. I have that version and although I haven't yet had my truck running with it (just ignition on, not running in my garage) it did seem to be working.

I have contacted jtwags and he sent the dropbox link to his dashboard file with some instructions. Now hopefully I can get this imported into my software. I may need to find someone to help me, (I think my daughter has a friend who is quite sharp with computer stuff) as my skills are extremally limited.

What are the problems that your having? I'm not familiar with the BAFX but if your confident that the updated software will work with the 2020 then the problem could be the adapter. Also are you using Android or iPhone?

I am using Android, and I'm not sure there is a problem. I'm having a conversation with jtwags and he has been very helpful, my next step is getting someone here (my daughter or one of her friends who are tech savvy) to help me with the dropbox file download and install to Fusion app.

Thank you for responding and I will post more after the file install, that dashboard of yours is really nice and hopefully I can end up with something like that.

When you get it sorted I can drop box my dash so you can duplicate it if you like. Jtwags was the one that started the nice custom dash, I just modified it a little for my own liking.

Thanks, I really do appreciate that. I noticed that post #23 by jtwags is oriented vertically, then both post #63 and #105 are horizontal. Is that as simple as orienting your phone vertical or horizontal or more complex?

Yup, just turn the phone and the gauges position themselves. I have a phone holder in the cup holder under the heater controls so my Samsung has to be in the horizontal position.

So I was out in my truck today, and I figured out how to get two dials A/T Oil Temperature 1 and A/T Oil Temperature 2 working. That seems to prove my BFAX OBD2 reader and Fusion app work fine together, problem is I don't know which is pan temp and which is T/C temp. Anyone know off hand?

I have a BAFX Products 34t5 and Fusion (switched form torque pro) everything work well for my 2013

I dont remember offhand which is which but when you are driving you will see one spike when the torque converter isnt locked, thats the torque converter temp. The pan temp stays pretty constant at 200f

I have the torque pro app, added the trans temp options. I'm trying to get it to display the ambient air temp, but am not having any luck. I'm trying to compare ambient air and iat's while driving to try to graph things compared to mph.

2018 Crewmax towing a light (3500 lbs) travel trailer that has the aerodynamics of a brick with a parachute. This was captured while towing over Highwood Pass (about 7500 feet) in Alberta, Canada.

Note the temps and peaks indicated by the arrows (although I didn't capture the highest numbers):

    IMG_6203.jpg

I saw the Torque Converter hit 233 F (not in this pic) and coolant 220 F. Based on these numbers from a previous post, I appear to still be in the correct range for a 2018. However, I admit that it feels a little too hot for such a light trailer.

    Non-towing ranges (F): Pan 180-225 and TC 180-240
Towing ranges (F): Pan 180-235 and TC 180 to 250

If you you tow in 4th it will keep temps down. I tow in 4th and sometimes 5th if flat.

I noticed that. The higher the truck RPM, the cooler the temps stayed. Likely because it promoted flow through to the tranny cooler.

It also locks the torque converter eliminating the additional heat load.

Ok, stupid question but how do I import a .STG file into OBD Fusion app on iPhone? I can only find places to import .CSV files not .STG

jtwags was nice enough to send me a link to his Dropbox. I downloaded to my Dropbox. Opened OBDFusion and went to Settings > Menu > Import Settings and selected Dropbox, I was able to import with no problems but can't seem to really have the settings. I select all of the settings to import and choose OK. I choose Overwrite existing Dashboards and select Ok and it says it imported the settings but I don't see them. Am i missing something ?

You have to delete the current copy with same file name in the folder and replace with the downloaded version with same file name.

I guess I am not getting just where to delete the current copy. Assuming OBDFusion but I know better then to assume.

Man I am struggling trying to find PIDs for my trucks ATF temps and ATF Pan temps as well as the gear selection icon that shows when the torque converter locks up. I bought the extra file for a 2018 Tundra but not seeing them. Frustrating
