Hi guys, new Tundra owner here! I just purchased a 2012 Black Tundra CM SR5 TRD FFV 4x4 and I am super stoked on it! I have read through a bunch of the posts on here and I'm a little confused as what to do when it comes to lifting it. I'm not going to be doing a lot of off roading but will occasionally go for a stroll and cut loose and I currently have nothing to tow. I'm almost dead set on the toytec/eibach 3" lift kit, with the coachbuilder 1" shackles and bumpstop kit, and jba uca. I would like have the truck sitting level after it's all said and done, but the question I'm stuck on is the use of the rear shackles if I just want a level ride. After doing some measurements I have found that the front is almost dead on at 36.5" with the LF sitting just a tad lower. The rear is what is really puzzling to me. The LR is at 38 7/8" (gas tank is half full) and the RR is at 40 1/4" from the ground, does the gas tank really cause that big of difference in ride heights from one side to the other. So my question is will I need shims on the front, (I have seen that the factory springs come at different heights to counteract the lean) and will the use of the 1" shackles cause me to keep the rake it currently has? Once I have the lift on and the truck is sitting level my plan is go with the same size rim and put 35s on it. Thanks in advance for any input or advice and sorry for the formatting first time user here.

Well I think your on the right track with what you have in mind. Toytec/eibach makes good products for the price point. If you don't go with an adjustable coilovers I would plan to have atleast a shim for the drivers side front. Rear shackle is a good option. Personally I felt 1" out back with 3" front was to nose high. But lots of guys run it that way. I prefer a little rake so I went 2" in back. It's odd your rear was sitting off, however I have noticed at times my rear is sitting unlevel. I feel like it's just how it settles sometimes when parked becuase other times it's fine..

I have a 13 DC 4.6 and I am dead level. I have Toytec Aluma 2.5's with SPC UCA's up front and Toytec shackles set at 1.5 along with 1/2 inch axle shims for the rear. Every Tundra sits differently. I would do the coilovers up front along with the shackles in the rear and see how it sits after a day or two. Your 5.7 will be a little heavier in the front compared to mine. After that then you can add axle shims if you need to bring the rear up just a bit. If you do need shims, replace the ubolts as well. Not recommended to reuse them. The 7.5 inch ubolts from Toytec is what I used. Let me know if you need pics of the axle shims that I am referring to.

Thank you for input and advice. I never knew about the axle shims, but will definitely keep in mind once I get the lift put on and see where I'm sitting. I actually changed my mind and went with the bilstein 6112/5100 option, paired with jba uca's and coachbuilder shackles and shims. Hopefully everything will be here by next week and I can get it installed. And if you wouldn't mind, I would like to see some pics of your axle shims. Thank you again for the response.

I have the ToyTec boss with ToyTec shackles 3/1.5 fully adjustable so no driver side lean. The Shackles can also be set at 1inch. F3E64F50-CE04-4815-8C62-B3BF436CCA0F.jpg looks level but measures slightly higher in the rear. This pic has about extra 550 lbs on the rear!

Every truck is different. Mine is a 4.6 so my front end would be a tad higher than a 5.7 would be. That's why I had to do the rear shims along with the 1.5 setting on the shackles.

Hey guys! Just wanted to give an update on my progress. So, I got done with the install this past weekend now just need to get an alignment and will be good to go! As I mentioned I did go with the bilstein 6112/5100 on highest setting, 2 shims on driver 1 shim on passenger, jba ucas and coachbuilder +1 shackles. I am pretty much level, front is sitting about 1/2 inch higher than rear but hoping it will settle after awhile. Unfortunately dont have any good pics, havent moved it out of the driveway yet. Should I have done a diff drop or CB drop??

Also, did have one mishap.. as I was adding the bumpstop extensions, the back passenger side just all of a sudden snapped off on me while I was unscrewing it. Most likely due to the rust, live in Nebraska, but I did spray on pb blaster beforehand. Question is, is it a big deal missing one or do I need this fixed asap? Thanks for any suggestions
