Rather then having posts all over the forum on things I’ve done, I decided it was time for some official documentation.

This vehicle is my daily commuter, family weekend vehicle and family trip vehicle. Therefore any major modifications (suspension, tires, etc) will be done with overall comfort and parking ability kept in mind.

This is my third Tundra and 7th Toyota truck.

I’ve had one of every generation so far (fingers crossed I like the next gen as well).

Current vehicle (day of purchase) 2017 CMAX SR5 TRD 4x4:

Window tint, front drop strip (not shown, had to leave unexpectedly - terrible twos toddler problems) AND 1Aauto tow mirrors:

They are not BSM compatible, so I added LEDs in-line installed in the sail panel that function in place of the indicator that was in the factory mirror:

Factory size Falken Wildpeaks, truck only hit 19k at this point, but I needed the tires I like before the factory ones wore out:

Found a TRD Pro insert locally for sale, so swapped that out:

LaminX the front fogs, had it about two weeks, one of them started to brown from the heat.. that was short lived:

^^ also can see the addition of the driver side O-sh!t handle.

    Fog light mod:

    Added a chrome exhaust tip:

Decided I wanted the exhaust dumped so the tailpipe wasn’t visible. Cut the tail pipe on a matching angle and reinstalled it:

Added TRD decals to the factory wheel center caps:

Realized I was unhappy with overall look, so I carefully marked off and cut it about 3” off. Gave it a much more factory curve:

The running boards/grill/footwell LEDs all run off of the footwell lamp circuit which means all fade on and off when locked/unlocked or a door is opened/closed:

Added small black rubber “bumpers” for an as close to factory look as I could find to help eliminate the phone sliding around:

    Black raised tailgate letters:

    Matte black grill and surround:

    8DF94191-8909-4CF4-A28B-C60FBAB3898C.jpg

I have also installed the starter-X remote start. Works great and has zero issues working with factory fob.

Hopefully this gives anyone help or ideas who is aiming to achieve a desired look about their vehicle. Any questions I’d be more then happy to ask.

Swapped out the headlight bulbs for higher quality bulbs.

I’d say a build has a defined end result or purpose, like to enable overland trips or days at the beach, even a specific look. A bunch of mods is just that, mods for the sake of mods.

It’s always neat to see how people’s rugs change as they use them more.

Overall it is a huge improvement over stock.
When I changed them, I started with the fogs and was stunned how dull/amber the headlights were in comparison to the new fog bulbs.

Added a DIY bak box to my cover.

Basically two brackets that bolted into the forward most deck rail bolt location, a piece of 3/4” exterior plywood and a 2 1/2” rubber gasket to act as a flexible, yet secure lip to hold everything on the shelf.

interested in the BSM. I was under the impression that the factory mirrors had some sort of BSM module built into them that worked with the other sensor units. Is there a thread you followed to do your BSM indicator lights in the sail panels.

Liking all the lights. Would love to see your house around the holiday season..

the BSM uses the rear sensors and LEDs mounted in the factory mirrors which cause enough resistance on the system to complete it.

Adding these LEDs to the pair of wires going to each mirror completes the BSM loop and eliminates the malfunction code.

Nice build man! Very functional with lots of little improvements! I have 2017 SR5 as well, so I may steal your pic for tapping into the cargo. It comes on when you utilize the cargo light with the switch inside?

yup! It functions exactly how the Roof mounted cab light does with the switch. On/door/off

works great. And if you need extended light leaving the switch on and shutting the door leaves the cargo lights on for 15 minutes.

Awesome man...thanks! Keep up the good work. Truck looks good. I don't think I'd buy the bronze, but I can definitely appreciate it...especially when clean!

one of my buddy’s friends has a wheel repair shop. They stripped the wheels down to bare surface and repainted them black then baked on a clear coat.

Really like how you got the bed lights attached to the cargo lamp. What did you use for your running board lights?

Great work on there mods, not over done but interesting enough to make me break out the credit card :spending:

The running board lights, lights behind my grill, under the rear bumper and footwell lights are all wired to the footwell lamp circuit.

this way the fade on and off with unlock/lock.

Thanks, I have a set of Vleds already in the footwells, could easily run off the last one and daisy chain the running boards. Thanks

    I used these..

AUTUNEER 60Inch LED Truck Bed... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073ZGNDTC?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

...a pair for the running boards, a pair for one below the rear bumper and behind the grill and a pair for the footwells front and rear.
