did a tailgate handle replacement today, broke the other one trying to open it. when i opened it up, the plastic clips were just about all wasted except the one holding the passenger side lock. managed to keep it all together temporarily with duct tape and zip ties... but the driver side lock is messed up and does not want to close easily without being lined up. Need to order clips and a new lock latch. got it working at least. time to haul...

No pics this time is fine. Pics just help us see what you're talking about. Its been 3 years since I've replaced my tailgate handle, and the details are.... fuzzy...

Troubles are ALWAYS part of the fun, when you're looking back in retrospect.

Not always fun when facing them head on in the moment.

The latches are pretty simple, I'd put money on if you pulled it out, thoroughly cleaned and lubed it that it will function fine.

If you take your existing good clip to the parts store they'll have one that'll work.
