Update: I went to my local dealer and asked them to replace the stalk, with this thread printed out for them. To my pleasant surprise, they replaced the stalk without any difficulty. They related that the original stalk had an open circuit and replaced it with a new one. I inconspicuously marked the original stalk before dropping it off, just to confirm the stalk was replaced. Since the new stalk was installed, haven't had any issues with the lights going off. Thanks again to all those that posted to this thread!! BTW....I found a TSB for a software update on the factory audio head unit addressing random rebooting of the head unit. The dealership performed this TSB as well and resolved that issue as well.

Awesome thank you for the update. I have mine documented but the dealership did nothing. Guess it's time to find another dealership.

I have the same issue been dealing with it for about a year now!! Dealership of course won't touch it unless they can duplicate it at the shop, and we all know how that doesn't happen. I have A 2017 Tundra 1794 edition. I have put in a complaint to NHTAS, and have noticed a lot of other complaints with the same issue. It is so infuriating that Toyota wont do anything about it!! if you have this issue please report it so hopefully we can get a safety recall on this issue.

6 months after the light stalk was replaced and still working perfectly! No issues whatsoever since the dealership replaced the light stalk. When I went into dealership....I had printed a copy of this entire thread and gave to service advisor. The tested and found an open circuit in the stalk and then replaced it! Maybe it’s worth taking a printed copy of this thread when taking truck into dealership. Recently, I upgraded the headlights to the Morimoto’s and still not having any issues!! Good luck!!!

Funny mine just happened again last night. Have not seen it for a while. Getting colder, might be related.

I am seeing this same issue with the same symptoms everyone is reporting. Lights in auto, while turning left. It's happened once turning right though. Another time, it happened while switching out of high beams to low beams and the lights shut off. I am glad to have found this thread, at least I have an idea of what the problem is and it's not too expensive to fix. I have a 2017 Platinum with 28k miles and it's stock, with no electrical mods.

Getting mine fixed today! I just couldn’t deal anymore with the flashing of my headlights at people while driving on the freeway.

2016 TRD off road. 80,000 miles
