Icon Stage 2. So that includes coilovers, rear shocks and leaf pack. Rides great. Tires are huge in comparison to the Michelin 275/65/18, and don't kill you on the braking and handling.

Just installed 285/75r18 duratracs with 18x9 25mm offset wheels. Also have Bilstein 6112 coilovers at 1.9in setting as well as 1.5 in add a leaf (icon)in rear. Loving the stance and ride. Minor trimming/plastic removal for the front tires required. No chopping needed.

The standard stuff...remove the front flap, trim the skid plate.

I do have some rubbing I need to figure out at lock just haven't had opportunity to mess with it due to bad weather and travel for work.

The ride is worse. I need to play with air pressure to see if I can soften it up and the impact on performance is noticeable. It doesn't accelerate as strongly and shifts more.

So far I am happy with the Yokohama X-AT but they are a little heavier than some other choices.

I dumped a boat load of cash into the suspension of the FJ I had before. Since this will never do any significant off roading, primarily beach driving, I am trying the cheap approach but may very well end up going back to Icon.

FB6BEE01-3480-49DE-980A-31C49D58E86F.jpg 2” Dobinsons front lift. 1”rear block. Hammered skid and removed spats. No rubbing around town today. The spidertrax spacers were a no-go as they caused too much rub on the bumper and the body mount.
I like how it turned out. Falken Wildpeak 285x75r18 measure 33.5”x11.5” newly mounted with 40psi. They appear tall and skinny. Definitely feel tall vs 275/70r18 they replaced.

Per the tape, remember they are freshly mounted and well below max inflation. Think a lot of metric size tires run undersized too. The sidewall says 35inx11.5in. Web says 34.8” tall so we will see how they measure up after some time, but I won’t be surprised if they stay smallish. How many people actually measure their tires with a tape measure?

I have the boss 3" coilover with a block in the rear. I had to get spacers (spidertrax) as well as cut away part of the bumper to make them fit. I have 285x75r18 Nitto's on the stock trd dubs. I can post a pic if need be.

Here's a pic of the bumper part in the wheel well that needed to be cut. Sorry for the poor pic, it's dark out and my phone sux.

Bet those Nittos measure larger than the Falken. Would have had to cut the same thing, not willing to cut.

I have the 285/75/18 Toyo rt on a 3/2 pro comp spacer lift with factory trd +60 wheels and if I remember right didn’t have to cut anything besides the skid plate. If it was anything else it wasn’t more than some plastic it’s been a while I’d have to go look.

I'm curious what the bed rail height is for those of you with the TT Boss 3" lift and 285/75R18 tires. Anyone willing to post some measurements would be greatly appreciated. I have a Boss 3' lift with rear AAL's waiting in my garage. The plan is install a modular bed rack and hardshell RTT for family camping, fly fishing trips and to use as a base camp when toying my FJ40 to events.

I just stumbled across this while researching what tires to get for my truck. What all did you have to do to get these to fit besides some cutting? I'm getting a 3"/2" lift put on and I'm trying to figure out what tire I can fit while keeping my stock wheels like you did. Your truck looks awesome by the way. What tires are those?

EDEACDEE-FAA4-49EB-980C-15BF78C2054C.jpg Thanks! It’s a 2.25” Dobinsons coil over front and 1” toytec rear block. 285/75r18 Falken Wildpeak. I took off the front spats and hammered in the stock skidplate a bit. Very small rub on front sway bar at full lock. No other rubbing even while doing some beginner off-roaring and dirt roads.
I’m really liking the setup. I attempted to install 1.25” wheel spacers originally, but returned them bc there was going to be cutting involved. I cut a little corner off the front mudflaps near the body mount, but in hindsight this was probably unnecessary.

    @Skey44

I have the TRD skid plate on my truck. It came as an installed option from the factory. I don't think I can hammer that thing in nor would I want to. Mine will be a 3" lift in the front though. I will just have to see what the guy says after I pick my truck up tomorrow. I think those Falken tires are awesome. Thanks for the info man.

Think the pro skid accommodates for larger tires.

This looks PERFECT. I’m due for new tires and I think I’m going to go for your tire and suspension setup. Thanks for sharing the pics and info.

So I got my lift installed today. Funny thing, the TRD Pro skid plate is a lot bigger than the standard one I guess. The ReadyLift is not compatible with it so they couldn't reinstall it. I have to call ReadyLift about that deal. They said they could put it back on but just need some additional spacers.

I haven't bought tires yet because I still don't know what will fit. The mechanic said I could only go 270/70R18 with my stock wheels but I'm afraid it will look small. I'm just trying to avoid hitting the UCA and doing major cutting. What do you think?

Mine clear the UCA fine and really aren’t significantly wider than the 275/70r18. Sure there is some variance in actual tire size between brands so I can only speak to my exact setup. I had 275/70r18 in the Wildpeak before and they looked too small to me so I had to change. I had them before and after the lift. I’m very happy with my tire size and setup now. Looks very proportional and provides significantly more sidewall for airing down with marginal losses in acceleration, cornering, and fuel economy. Her she is with the 275/70r18 on for comparison

@Skey44 Thanks for the info! I just need to get my TRD Pro skid plate back on and I'll see what kind of room I have in that area afterwords. I really want that back on there and it's solid so I can't hammer it in and I don't want to cut it. If I have to get 275/70R18 on there this go around then oh well. I'll just try to find a brand that is bigger than most I guess.

There's a member that runs geolandar a/t g015 285/75 on his truck with a 1.5 lift in the front with no trimming. I guess the tire runs a little small for 285/75. The tire is not as aggressive as others but still looks decent.

Icon stage 2 with AAL and toytec shackles.

I also have the trd pro skid under there.

I have Falken AT3W coming this week at 285/75r18 on some stock wheels. Going with 3/1 with Bilstein 6112/5160 and add-a-leaf. Should all be installed this time next week. Will post pictures after.

    Bilstein 6112 Front.
    Bilstein 5160 rear
    Add-A-Leaf rear.

Falken AT3W 285/75r18 on OEM 18" Tundra Alloys with +60 offset

Love how this turned out. I will be dropping the front back down about an inch.

Minor rub on the front sway bar which I have since removed. I went out and took some corners at varying speeds and don't have any issues with body roll.

I just put on toyo open country m/t in 285/75r18s I have icon remote resi front, icon rxt leaf and shock rears. Stock rims I rubbed a little on front mudflaps so I removed them. Also had to remove and trim skid plate back under the saw bar due to on hard turns almost full over I rub pretty bad on sway bar, but I almost never need to steer that hard in normal driving. The stock rims are 60mm offset so a rim with probably 20 or 40mm would have issues. Gonna get new skid plat soon anyway.20200616_164141.jpg

What are/were the 6112s set to here? What add a leaf are you using? Looking to get this size in stock looking 2011, so any info is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

Love how this turned out. I will be dropping the front back down about an inch.

Minor rub on the front sway bar which I have since removed. I went out and took some corners at varying speeds and don't have any issues with body roll.
