images_166bca6b1d6c43e953bfc6ac8156d342ae081909.jpg My coolant gauge started acting up in my cluster (go figure)... so might try to see if a sequoia limited cluster will fit the 05-06 tundras

    I know you're a tech and all...

But can you explain in layman's terms how you would go about putting your correct mileage on the new cluster.

I know when I did my cluster lights I was VERY SCARED that it would lose memory, but it didn't. Unless that's a number saved to the computer, abd then sent to cluster?

    I'm just curious.

The odo is saved on the chip on the cluster. There are people that can program the mileage you need. I would just send the mileage I want and the cluster to someone I know on tacomaworld, he would program it and when I get it back, plug in and go about my day.

So I'm the guy taking flash photos at midnight....
here's a shot taken on my left rear tire looking to the rear at my wheel well "liner":
    20200614_001017.jpg
all looks good. Notice that one hole.

This photo is under the truck left rear looking up into the wheel well, other side of the wheel well 'liner'. Notice the single hole for reference. Same hole as prior photo.
    20200614_000941.jpg

If left unaddressed it will grow to result in this (my original Tacoma bed)

Hey, I see the importance now.

What I meant by inspection video was so I can see on my bed. Sorry for the confusion, but thank you for the visual aid. It actually DID help my loopy state.

This morning? LOL. I had to impose a rule. No more buying vehicles until AFTER selling what it replaces. I was real good for a while at buying replacements or next toys & not selling off. I really can't handle more than 2 or 3 & I'm at 5.
But you're in The South, you don't want a North East truck.

I call it the mid-south lol. But, if thats your suggestion then I won't push.

I just know how to do some things to these trucks already, working on moms sequioa is a completely different world to me. Lots more wires...

the plugs are the same. thats half the battle.. toyotas not one to change pinout much.

It would give me all the lights for a center locking diff and what not if i really do want to try and make my truck AWD too

height control is useless on these trucks.. unless i run airbags and set it up to work off that.

well, dangit. cluster wont work due to lack of body control module. oh well. Guess i'll live with the coolant gauge for now and worry about it later.. scan gauge gives me temp anyway

my friend had a 2000ish Lexus 470 with height. At full drop, still wouldn't fit into the garage - so he'd agree w/ you. Useless.

i meant the lights for what theyre intended for. meh. i'll figure out what im doing. no clue why the coolant gauge decided to die.. i know i had it apart. but it was working fine till today. now it just sometimes reads in the red, some times not at all and other times perfectly... weird

When I spoke with Keith he recommended doing the exhaust system next...

I think i want to try to keep the same sound I have. I mean i know it will change with a new system, but similar. It has sounded the same to me since I was 7...

It has never changed in a way that I can tell any difference

It is a "Welcome home" sound to me.

I don't know ANYTHING about exhaust systems other than mine is old, and barely hanging onto the truck by a few ruated out hangers.

I think it needs to be my next big investment after I move out. Because I want to breathe again. Jesus, I can't buy any parts without being interrogated.

"How much did this cost? Why are you doing that? Why are you doing this?"

Sheesh. Cut me some slack, and let me fix my childhood truck. Shit man.

    Talk about dysfunctional...

i have experience with the 3.4. Doug thorley headers made a noticeable difference. anything past the headers did next to nothing. the 3.4 is an old engine and not the easiest to get more power out of. unless you supercharge it. supercharged, exhaust can gain you some decent power.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jxS_q6wIrJI&feature=youtu.be
this is what the 3.4 sounds like with magnaflow cat back, cats and thorley headers. it sounded good before the muffler started to break down. the rasp use to not be there. but even after the muffler became.... used it still sounded good under load..

Minus picking out the color because I liked it... same here.

We just chose different paths in life, and my vehicle path started later.

As I've said before the tundra has only stranded me once, and it was my fault.

Should I tell the story, or have I before?

the sad thing is this truck will have more new parts than original parts. but the original parts are also getting used to piece together another toy.

New frame, new suspension, new built engine, Rebuilt original trans, rebuilt T-case, Rebuilt front and rear diffs, New axles, New fuel tank, 2 new front doors, a new tailgate, Have to repair or find a new bed (rust)... shes going to be practically all new underneath.
