Hey, just wanted to try something out.

Let me know what you guys think?

Obviously, for the bed I don't really care about overspray since it will all be hidden.

I like it, I’m surprised you were able to get that much paint out of the can at those weird angles.

It helps with towing, too. That rear stays planted towing or not. Highway speed lane changes are very crisp. Curves are a breeze. More women look my way and better MPG, as well!:D

I’d say its my top performance mod (other than having the entire front end rebuilt due to tiredness). Brakes conversion from WE to WL are my second. You may have some seized calipers from age going on. Mine were bad.

That's nothing. I did an illegal wet change on a 6" city sewer main to replace a busted saddle. I went through the asphalt, dug down a foot under it, pre dabbed an ABS section to swap in. I had a labor guy holding two shop vac hoses in the hole and I rigged two sets of chain snaps connected and popped on both ends. Yanked, stomped the ABS in, no hubs on and done.

Next day the city showed up. They got a complaint about jack hammer's in the alley and came to inspect. When I told them what I did his face was absolutely priceless. He made me dig it back up and replace it with clay pipe.

Fernco actually, the clay to ABS kind. I was a service plumber for 6 years or so, did a lot of wild shit.

Some highlights include getting lowered into a grease trap at an IHOP to replace a busted tee, no fancy harness, I hooked a ratchet strap to my bumper and had a buddy back up slowly, the tee was about 4 feet below ground level and too far to reach any other way.

My 3rd day on the job I helped a guy pull a run of rolled copper through an old water line. We dug up an area near the house, dug an area at the meter, used steel cable and made a spear on the end of the copper where the cable went through. The steel cable went through the old water line and to the bumper of the truck, I held the roll and unwound it while he drove away in the truck. The line broke half way through, we had to dig it up and start again but it made it under a 3 car driveway. Next day my trainer asked what I learned, when I told him his face was priceless too. I forget the name of the old piping, it was a blue plastic, almost like a brittle version of Pex.

I can't remember all the wild crap. I do remember a lot of sketchy jobs though and weird people I ran across.

Not an electrical leak but I rewired the pavilion at my Aunt's picnic pavilion yesterday. Some genius managed to make 6 outlets work off of 1 GFI wired from 1 breaker. 14-3 Romex with red and black tied to 2 separate breakers sharing the neutral.

1st 2 gang box had the GFI with the black on the line side, a single red from the load side tied into the other outlet. Then the neutral wire nutted together to both outlets plus another 14-3 with the incoming red nutted to it's red and the black to theblack on the regular outlet.

Next 2 gang box had red to the black of a 12-2 UF cable and the 14-3 black to an outlet. Same deal with the neutral here all wire nutted together. The two outlets then wired together.

The UF cable then went to another outlet wired correctly.

All of this was stapled exposed to the elements, 6 space sub panel with only 4 breakers used for lights, outlets, and a pool pump. Oh and no weather covers on anything.

I ran all new 3/4 conduit, 12 gauge wiring, added another outlet for decorative lighting, added in use covers to everything, and put every pair on it's own circuit with a properly wired GFI in each.

Fellas, will it hurt anything to cut the extra off the ends of my U-bolts?

If I don't i will never be able to get the torque wrench on.

Figured I would ask before going through with it.

There you are. I remembered somebody in here was a wire weasel but forgot who.

It's amazing what people can fudge up. I've been on more than a few calls of "homeowner replaced switch and now it's not working". They put a single pole switch in a 3 way and put one of the wires on the ground screw. That or they replace a plug and put blk/wht blk/wht on the sides and wonder why the breaker is popping. Ah, the life of a service tech.

Not a sparky by trade but I'm at least halfway knowledgeable. Troubleshooting wiring diagrams has helped me out more than a few times.

I love wiring diagrams. I was an electronics tech in the navy so I've seen a few of em in my day.

Maybe it was somebody else who was a sparky....

    Both leafs are in.

All 4 u-bolts have been chopped.

I had to run to town, and buy another torque wrench because I didn't do my homework when I bought the first one.

Went with the tekton ½" drive.

ALMOST bought the Dewalt version because it goes up to 250 ft. Lbs.

Didn't feel like dropping over $100 for a torque wrench though. Plus its like 2.5 feet long.
