What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

We have about 20, but these two are a black australorp hen and a polish crested rooster.

 

Started getting rid of the chrome

 

I replaced my stock wheels with a set of 20” BBS wheels from a 2014 Sequoia. I found the wheels on Facebook marketplace and had a local shop dip and powder coat them for me. I wrapped them with 275/60/20 Pathfinder AT’s. The wheel tire combo is smooth. Discount tire had no issues balancing or swapping over my TPMS sensors. I am really happy with the way they turned out.

 

So worth the time and money to de-chrome. Too much effort to keep it clean. I have OCD so if I have chrome its gotta shine

That was gonna wait til fall but im bumping it the hell up to asap. Had 3 recalls done today and the dealer washed my truck for me.. damned streakers all over the bumper caps still that I have to polish off again. They’re going bye-bye, along with the grill surround and bulge as soon as I get my bed liner and tracracs installed next week.

 

Got my Trd sway and bed step in finally.

Did the Body Mount Chop FINALLY! Also found out that not welding in over 10 years is pretty obvious by my welds. Lol. Don't judge...just trying to keep doing all my own work on my truck

Without extending the harness on either the power and ground side or the motor and lighting side you're really limited on location for install. Also, the back of the unit is not flat so only using two sided tape or velcro wouldn't have secured the unit to my satisfaction. I tried a few different places but could never get everything to fit and had to settle for this location. It's secured by tie wraps and resting on the big bundle underneath but I would have preferred a cleaner looking install either on the fender or firewall.

 

I couldn't find a good spot for it either. Ended up zip tie'ing it to the brake booster. It makes me twitch every time i see it.

 

This week I added Dakar leaf springs, 5160’s, 6112’s, and a new grill from Roman!

Are there pre-drilled holes to mount the step on, or did you have to drill? I didn't think I wanted the step, but my Tundra is taller than my Titan was, and the step would be helpful. I'm also not as young as I used to be. I remember when the ORIGINAL came out, I even remember when the first Atari came out!

I second that.. that step would be nice to have. For different reasons though.. im just short

 

I have the amp research bed step and its bolt on (no drilling). I beleive all brands are mounted the same.

 

Shucks, that is a bummer that happened to you. My experience has been exactly the complete opposite with the exact ones referenced.

They have been on for approx 10 months and have already gone through one of our harshest winters in a good while and already withstanding mid-high 90’s heat...

They appear to be doing as well as expected... Did you surface prep well with alcohol and “gum” up the adhesive with a heat gun, as per the instructions?...

 

What did you use for the bulge?


I’ve been considering the same grill combo, but can’t find a matching bulge.

 

I followed the 3 steps of instructions on that page. There was no mention of preheating the adhesive on there. I’m glad you’ve have good luck with them. Honestly, they looked freaking great. I loved the chunky look they offered. I MIGHT get another set and replace that stuff they use with 3M.

 

Lost some chrome inside the cab with AJT vent covers, cup holder/shifter trim rings, and shift gate ring. A bit expensive but I really like the change and found the install really simple. Recommended!

Installed sound deadner, decoupler and MLV on back, doors and under rear seat=significantly quieter cab. This was extremely time consuming. I repeat, extremely time consuming.

Completely replaced the "premium" JBL system with Dasaita head unit and the JL audio package from James at Tech12volts...amp, 2 10's, doors and corner dash. All I can say is wow! I still need to do a little tweaking but as it stands, the sound is amazing. A huge shout out to James' customer service. Despite him being in GA and me in PA, he makes it feel like "you know a guy" right around the corner. He always made himself available to answer questions and fix bumps in the process. If you are looking for an audio overhaul, I'd recommend starting there.

Got mine from eBay. Comes with instructions on putting them on. Took me less than an hour. These are about as thin as you can go and can’t beat the price!

Avery Matte Black Vinyl Wrap! The bulge was actually really easy to do. Way easier than the bumper caps.

 

It's an NSV light bar that I purchased from Cali Raised Offroad.

 

Funny.... Yep I felt the same way, sore hands, one stripped seat bolt and a lot of language that would make a trucker blush. LOL. I always loved the results though.

 

It’s just bolt on. U have to change a support under tHe bumper.

 

These are great words of encouragement as I'm waiting on my set to get here in the next week or two... I kinda had an idea it was going to suck when I pulled the trigger though lol

I'm planning to just pull out one seat at a time and do them in the AC, so hopefully it won't be too terrible if I spread the suck over a few days.

 

It matched the EAG grille perfectly!!
