Can I add an AUX to the stock head unit?

    Can I add an AUX to this head unit?

    like take out the 6-disc changer type of thing?

    I did that on an old Honda back in the day.


    Not interested in changing the head unit right now.

    I think he already has a cassette adapter. The original post image shows a cable sticking out of the cassette deck opening.

    I added the GTA car kit about a year ago; the "Pure Bluetooth with AUX" version and couldn't be happier. Every once in a while I'll have to disconnect and then reconnect to get the BT working but otherwise no issues (takes two seconds). I like that I can use my steering wheel controls to answer and hang up the phone and FF thru my playlist on my cell.

    I have the AUX option but haven't had a need to use that connection yet. I will soon use the USB charging output to setup a wireless charging device for my iPhone XR; more to come in a couple of weeks.

    One thing to note (copy from the GTA website) - "If your Tundra is equipped with the model number that starts with AD letters (e.g. AD1812) – such radios are not supported by our kit. The model number is usually displayed on the front panel of the stereo unit."

    One last thing - I'll gladly take your CD changer off your hands, assuming you have the changer in the console. I'm a sucker for the OEM items for this truck...

    I've had the GTA aux/apple non-bluetooth kit in my 03 Sequoia for around 4+ years now. Super easy plug and play but it may be slightly different for the Tundra. The rear of my jbl head unit has an unused connector for the factory dvd player, the gta unit plugged in there. I use it every day though and love it
