Got a couple hours today to work on punching holes in the camper. Mounted my Powertank 10lb propane tank mount. Added in my bulkhead fitting for propane into the camper. Also added in my propex heater outlet into the camper, and finished that interior piece.

Finished up my camper side wiring, except for the propex heater. Using Blue Sea Systems switch panel, battery disconnect, scanstrut usb, and renogy solar controller.

Worked on the propex mounting, exhaust and intake routing a little bit today. Gives me a good idea of how much storage I’ll have once the install of the heater is done.

Worked some on the driver side storage, and got some wood cut for the platforms on the passenger side. Looking forward to all the storage I am gonna have with this setup.

What did you use for the headliner and how did you attach it? I have a Four wheel camper that needs a headliner.

The material is 8020, extruded aluminum. I used mostly 10 series extrusions on this project. I purchased most of it from https://www.tnutz.com/

The headliner is ripstop fabric, it is attached via velcro sewn into the headliner and attached to the outer edge of the frame.

Sounds like a great idea. My headliners get really grungy and it would be nice to be able to pull it oit and wash it at the end of the year.

Worked on the upstairs and downstairs ducting for the Propex 2800, and had some propane hoses made up. Now just waiting on a warranty on the propex thermostat to start this baby up!

is that an m or e series switch? are you just using it for your house battery? thinking about putting one on my main since getting to the cables is a major PITA with the way the dual batteries are installed.

Killer build so far! We have very similar sliders, I built 2x6 as well! I love doing things myself, and you look similar :) I’m excited to keep watching :headbang:

Thanks! But I like the weight difference, like doing projects, and it’s new. Fwc weigh more than you’d think and realistically are at or above the payload of our trucks.

The OVRLND is Close to same weight as a stock project m and cheaper with options.

4-500lbs lighter than a shell model and $3k+ cheaper with options and build out, 7-800lbs lighter than a hawk and $10k+ cheaper

Yeah not even close to the price of a FWC when this is done.

Great build! Just curious where you will be mounting your 2nd battery? I finished up my own DIY 2nd battery few months ago using Blue Sea ACR and PC1200 battery. Worked flawlessly with my Death Valley and Mojave trips this year. Thinking of also doing a solar mat at some point and having it sit on my tent.

I am just using one group 31 battery for the truck and camper. I have the solar running which usually charges up the battery by lunch from using the heater and fridge all night. I am usually driving around and dont usually camp in one spot more than 2 nights. I also have a noco jump pack as backup.

been meaning to update the post, so here we go.

Finished up the interior upper sides to cover up the insulation. I went with two rows of 4" self adhesive velcro. Super happy with how it turned out and the amount of storage i have now. For securing cargo i got a bunch of the perfect bungees. I used one of their bungee nets on the door to hold down light stuff like jackets, etc, actually on the drivers side door.

I also picked up a trasharoo.

Last weekend we took our first family trip out in the camper and it turned out awesome. Original idea to sell my tacoma build was to fit a pack n play in side the truck which we have accomplished. With this camping trip we had a hand full of ideas and small things to change before our next trip out.

Starting on some more storage this week for cups and such. Also swapped out the wheels on the truck for some stock spare steelies. The OVRLND camper with its straight walls still allows to carry 4 tires/wheels and a bike to the shop to get them swapped out.

How does the truck handle the camper payload?

Handles it quite well. Even at altitude it handles the weight better and with more power than my old 2nd gen Tacoma stock. Mpg is worse than the taco but not much and I bet in the open road long highway stints probably the same
