Hello there, I just finished my up grads to the red freighter. First 2014 trd wheels, running boards, $4750 on stereo & dvd headrest, trailer brake' bed rails, rear bumper step, airbags w/on board compressor and air outlet (to inflate tires), 5100 all around, limited grill and front hitch. Then I got a killer deal ($33000) on a 2016 dc sr5 trd w/4816 miles garage kept as close to new as you can get, not a scratch but the tiniest rock chip on the bottom right of the windshield. My wife says no upgrades and I don't blame her.

    1. Nothing's wrong with you. :)
    2. Just as importantly, if the above is all your wife said - you've got a fine woman.

I'm not even going to post what I've put into my two Sunday drivers. My wife doesn't mind - she's under the impression  I'll get "most" of my money back if or when I decide to sell. Gonna hang onto them as I imagine her definition of "most" and mine would be considerably different. :duel:

Enjoy your goodies, it's a short ride on this rock...

I speak with a heavy heart, it isn't fair to my wife that I spend so much money and she gets hardly nothing. Marriage should be 50 50 not 90 10.

I'm rattled, just considering my options. Keep the red freighter and sell the 16.

Move everything over to the '16 and sell the '13. Then buy your wife something nice. :)

OK I will remove the running boards, bed cover, on board compressor, (leave the airbags on reroute airlines to the rear bumper). I can live without dvd headrest, stereo and front hitch won't fit the 16, the 5100's takes too much labor and alignment. Is there that much difference between the rear 5100's and the stock shocks to swap out?

Sheesh.....if it's burdening you to where you have a heavy heart, why'd you buy it in the first place? Seriously.....maybe it's because I tend to think things through, research, and chat with my wife before making any major purchase - but this seems rather silly to find yourself in this position.

Easy fix.....sell the 16' that burdening your heart so you can feel more square with things - or give it to your wife as a Valentines present (if she likes trucks). If it was a great deal, you should be able to turn around and sell it and take the weight off your heart.

Sounds like you've got your red freighter to where you want it, that's a hell of a nice goody list that seems like it would be a PIA to try and move around with your 16 - and then sell your RF. Sell the 16' if she doesn't want it and move on. Life's tough enough without self-inflicted wounds. Just my honest .02.

Change my mind again, keeping the red freighter and selling the 16.

Good choice Fred! Hopefully you'll make a few $$'s selling the '16 since you got such a great deal on it.

This thread confuses me, but I think I got the gist of it. I'm with @COMiamiFan , sounds like buyer's remorse. I'd sell the 16 now to try and get your money back out of it and keep red freighter since you've already got time and money tied up into it...and it's paid for. Maybe trade the 16 in on something new for your wife, then you won't feel so guilty if you spend more money on your truck.

Given the scenario you painted, that seems like the most logical choice.
