    What's up everyone?!

I've been on here for awhile and I've posted in the new member forum once but I've decided I ought to finally set up a build page now that I've had it for awhile and have developed a plan for it. Here's how she is right now!

Here is an edited version of what I posted on the new member thread:

I needed a daily driver and something I could use to get to the mountains because my 1988 BMW 535i on AirLift suspension is not the most reliable or capable thing in the world... So I bought this 2005 Tundra AC 4WD in Phantom Grey Pearl from a Ford dealership north of Seattle. 111k miles on it so I know she’s got plenty of life left. I also am a technician at a Toyota dealership so I got all the resources I need!

Went out playing around Mount Rainier a couple times:

The plan is to do an Overland themed off-road camping build for exploring the PNW. I'm looking at a MAX Modular ALUMAX bed rack, TC UCAs, Fuel Shok D665 wheels, and BF Goodrich KO2 tires to start. If y'all have any recommendations for parts or camping gear, I'd love to hear it! Hope everyone has a great day!

So Purdy, hate to mess her up. You have a unicorn on your hands; keep it simple and you will be so happy like I was for 15 years...

    Coilovers, UCA Front
New leafs and shocks rear. Optional for shackle and hangar upgrade.

Rear locker. Drive and smile. That is all, beautiful truck!

Nice score! How about sharing in on some of your technical savvy over in the discussion forums. We have one other Toyota techie and could always use another. You might learn from some internet experts, too. :D

What's up guys? Been super in active lately but I've had a few more adventures this winter!

I'm looking to upgrade soon though! I'd like to get a lift and upgrade to some bigger tires, I don't want to spend too much money but I also don't want to cheap out and get some garbage either. Ideally going to be doing overlanding in snow and dirt. Any recommendations on lifts, mud terrains, and tire sizes? Thanks y'all!

    It's good
Hi everyone, new here and either mid life crisis or just renewed interest. My mom gave my teen her 2005 4runner, and wanting to make it cool for him, I went to town. A year later, it's a pretty cool first ride. I have a 2005 Tundra DC 2WD. After spending so much time on the 4R, I turned my attention to my truck. Needed tires, that led to looking at wheels, that led to better suspension, and other thoughts.

Seth, if you change wheels, Methods are lighter than factory and very nice. Not SCS, but good luck finding or affording those. I went 17X8.5 and 0 offset. Kept the original backspace and gave the stance the truck should have come with. A 17X8 at 0/5 offset would be awesome as well, and hold a 265/70/17 very nicely. There are TRD race knockoffs (KN?) that are that size, but that wheel is more popular than the Methods as they are TRD, or look like it. I think the TRDs are 7.5 wide, still great, 5mm offset if I recall. I ended up with a 275/70/17 tire. The truck is already lifted/leveled with the Bilstein 5100's up front at top groove for about 2.5" of lift and level in my setup. Its always been a super stiff ride, the springs are too heavy, but it is not a Bilstein set spring. Aftermarket and wrong. Corners like a sport car, though. After driving my son's 4R, I quickly got pissed at my front suspension. So King OEM Performance 2.5's are next to me and going in tomorrow. That will be interesting to me. But, its overkill for me. The Bilstein 5100s with factory or equivalent/recommended springs or the 6112s are very sweet. I'm still trying to determine the best bump stops for my Kings, that's all voodo, unless you pull the springs and check the shock travel and bump stop limit. Good luck! Sweet truck. I could probably sell mine for 10K less than sticker, 16 years later.

Seth, I added OEM Performance King Coilovers today. 2.5" Shock body and 2.5" lift set at factory. Not the 2.5 EXT coilovers, but King will replace the internal spacers and they will be extended when I have them serviced. I like the Bilstein 5100/6112 setup for the front, but I wanted adjustability. At factory settings, they are sweet as of my initial tests. Very sweet. I won't know more until I bang them harder. I gained 1" of down travel, and 1/2" of lift to what I had, which was in the 2.5" range. If you don't mind spending some cash, they are probably something you won't regret. If you want a good ride and level, check the Bilstein 5100 or the bigger 6112's. Bilsteins are currently out of stock nation wide. I'll add Total Chaos UCAs nest weekend. BTW, what camera setup are you using?

Rub grease on that frame to seal out water, and stop your surface rust.
    Before grease.

After grease. This picture is mid rub.

While the skid was off I touched up the frame horns too.

Wow! Nice set up bro! I pulled the trigger on an OME 3" lift in the front, ICON add a leaf in the rear, SPC UCA's and a Trail Gear diff drop. I'm hoping that get's me where I want it. The order has been pending for a month but hopefully I can get it on soon and I may add more later.

So I went wheeling with some co-workers this weekend and I got a chance to drive this beast:

Solid axle first gen Tundra on 38's. It was super rad. He said the swap cost him $3500
