Does anyone know a reasonably price and quality paint shop that will delete my chrome to Cavalry Blue? I'm looking to do front/rear bumper and grille.

    Thanks!

    Alot of them
For the bumpers I would go with Line-X. Alot of shops won't entertain painting a chrome bumper due to the amount of prep work to do it correctly.

The entire grille or just the grille surround? You could probably buy the grille surround already color-matched. For the bumpers, I might be inclined to purchase flat black ones and have the shop paint those. A much lower cost alternative might be Plasti-Dip.....unsure if you can get the exact color match though.

I just went to a Toyota certified repair shop yesterday for an estimate to spray my surround. Guy flat out said they won’t do it, and if they did they wouldn’t guarantee the paint due to eventual flaking. I’m still a little skeptical about all that but at any rate, it would be easier to either buy one already matched or find a used factory painted one then color match it.

Also in Houston, but with a newb question on a similar note: What’s the best way to get my chrome door handles to be MGM. Order from Toyota? Paint? Wrap? I have no skills so I’d need to hire someone to do it for me. I’d also want to chrome delete the Platinum badge and the 4x4 badge.

You can order them prepainted through Sparks Toyota, Cool Springs also offers them in colors that are available OEM.

I had these guys powder coat my bumper caps. They’re in Humble. Great guys, great work. I honestly don’t remember what I paid though. Disclaimer - my truck is black. It may be tougher to get the Cavalry Blue matched.

FYI, you have to remove them to get them done. The bumper caps were a bitch to remove, especially the rear ones. I’m not very mechanically inclined though, so it’s probably not as difficult as I make it out. I was actually able to round up some extra chrome ones for free which saved me from driving without bumpers for a week.

On grilles and door handles, I’d just order them from Toyota of Cool Springs or Sparks Parts. Those are really easy to swap out.

Just order MGM handles from Cool Springs or Sparks. Super easy to swap out, 20 minute job. You can get black overlays for the 4x4 badge. None exist for the Platinum, so you’ll have to plastidip or something.

I looked at Sparks Parts and they have everything I want pre painted. Looking to put the 2019+ TRD pro grille with the matching surround/hood bulge and then get the bumper end caps that go over the existing ones without having to remove anything which seems like a total time saver.

Total for everything looking to be around 2k. Not bad considering it’s pre painted.

    Thanks for the suggestion!

What side of town? I found a place over in Rosenberg/Richmond that I will eventually go to. I think they do a type of vinyl spray...

i live in Richmond. The Sparks Parts are online I think based in South Carolina but they sell OEM parts. I would buy the parts and install them myself.

It's just pricey that way. I recently did the grill surround and hood bulge and that was already $550+ bought from Toyota of Cool Springs.

I'm also in Richmond! You'll see me along 99 a lot so look out for me and I'll look out for you!

Looks hood! Did you get it painted locally or did Cool Spring pre paint it?

It was pre-painted. If you ever want to see in person, let me know!
