Anyone on here ever put up rain gutter screens on their house? Any recommendations? Any stay aways? I’m in VA now, coming from so cal and AZ, nobody has gutters, or leaf guards because no rain or trees. What’s a good solution so I don’t have to clean the damn gutters.

I have had LeafGuard on my house for seven years with great results. Never had to clean my gutters since installation. The only negative is under severe down pours and at valley locations only, they will not catch large volumes of water and over spill, but only on very rare occasions.

If you have pine trees, don't waste your money. The needles slide in and cause clogs. I have read that they also cause ice dams in cold climates but I never saw a problem with that

I have had LeafGuard for about a year. Expensive, but it's worked very well so far. I am surrounded by post oaks and live oaks, so have two leaf falls per year, fall and spring. Too darned old to be up trying to clean the gutters anymore. It has such a fine stainless steel screen, that I would think it also works for pine needles

I bought some off Amazon and installed myself. Only problem is the live oaks when pollinating in spring and the pecan pollen clusters. Instead of constantly moving ladder i can just get blower out. I like to hang xmas lights on gutters so I skipped part of the front. Make sure when installing that you slope away from the house as much as possible.

Look up something called ShurFlo gutter guard. I have them, installed myself and they are excellent and very affordable..even cheap for the outstanding level of protection they provide.

They’re not fancy, they just work.

It’s not a micro mesh product either. My Dad has a micro mesh product and they are good too but i feel like ShurFlo outperforms them and are way cheaper too.

They are sold by small independent gutter supply stores. got mine somewhere around the metro atlanta area

I would not use the micro mesh. They will clog with fine debris and gutters will not serve their purpose which is to direct water away from your foundation. Now if you are in areas where you don't have foundation issues due to soil then no big deal. In those cases why even have gutters. In DFW area gutters are critical to direct water away from foundations. Without gutters and proper drainage foundation damage is certain.
