First of hopefully many TOYOTAS was the best vehicle I've ever had so far.

Years of tinkering and rock crawling, ended up a 4-linked Truggy that saw 2 trails before I sold it to buy a house.

This is not mine but I had an identical white with black hatchback '82 Supra 5 spd. I purchased it in 1990. Had it for a few years until it was stolen from the college parking lot while I attended class.

 

Love those 4runners , sexy as hell!

 

This was my 2wd Tacoma that I had for a good bit. Sold it when I moved across the country and needed to have a 4x4.

 

2010 TRD Sport

 

My first Toyota, a 2004 Taco with the 5 speed manual and 3.4 V6. What a great truck it was.

 

I was born into a Chevy family, but when i got back from Brazil, i converted myself to Toyota by purchasing this 07 Scion Tc 5-speed manual tran. That thing was one of the funnest cars to drive! i got it with 150k and drove it until 220k before trading it for my Tundra.

 

This was an 80 before the rust got the best of it.

 

My 1990 2.8L Diesel non-turbo Hilux. Slow as a snail but had a lot of fun off-roading it as a young guy back home in Australia.

 

My first Toyota was my 2016 Camry XSE V6. When I was younger I was all about American pony cars. Got tired of always working on them.

 

1976 Celica. My dad handed it down to me in 87’. Wrapped it around a tree going too fast on wet roads. Great car til then. Peace. D

I had this '95 Toyota T100 through college that my dad gave me as a graduation gift and this is the only pic I have of it. This photo was taken in May 2006. I was trying to get a photo of the sandstorm coming in that day. As you can tell, this was taken from the highly capable camera phone of those days, lol.

 

My first - 1969 Hilux. It was also red. Wish I still had it!

93 4wd x-cab. my pops helped me out with the down payment and payments until I graduated college a year later. dude was a master negotiator and got $5k off msrp plus a bed liner, sunroof, wheels and tires thrown into the deal. rip pops and thank you. i debadged all the stickers.

I don't think I ever took a picture of my first Toyota, a sporty but beat up faded silver 1978 Celica GT 5-speed Liftback I bought in 1992 for $500. It looked like this one except mine had a broken left tail light, and lots of rust and dents. But it was sure fun to drive! Then I moved up to a smooth driving base model boring beige, automatic 1984 Camry. Again, no pics (I might have one in some old photo album) but for now I'll use this pic I found of a much nicer one. Same color, except mine had a broken left tail light and lots of rust and dents. And I bought it for $500 in 1994. Some kind of a theme going, lol!

Back then you could still buy a 10 year old beater for $500, even a Toyota, though it was a stretch. Easier if it was even older or if you increased your budget by about double. My next car a year later was a nicer, less rusty fully loaded but high mileage (175,000 miles, a lot for the times) luxurious two tone brown/beige 1986 Camry LE for $1200.

 

If it's my first Toyota TRUCK, then this is it, and these are actual photos of it. My 60 series 1984 Land Cruiser. It was a BJ60, so yes, it was a DIESEL (unfortunately NOT a turbo) with a 5 speed manual transmission. The 3B engine is a 3.4 L inline 4 cylinder, eight valve OHV naturally aspirated diesel engine that supposedly made 90 horsepower. Even on moderately steep hills I had to absolutely floor it, exceeding the speed limit on the flat level ground in hopes that I would not lose too much speed going uphill, even downshifting, but I always struggled to make it uphill at a reasonable speed. Even worse if there were people ahead of me, so I could not get a good run at the hill above the speed limit.

Still, it was a blast to drive, and great off-road, though I was never too aggressive with it off-roading. It sounded like a tractor. Being smurf blue, it was very distinctive. I had it from about 2006 to 2010. Would have liked to have kept it, but it was hard to find people willing to work on it (especially being an older diesel), and being old and yes, rusty, it needed work often. You may not see rust in the pics, but it was there, in the rocker panels, floor, A-pillar, etc. A guy from Alabama bought it and planned to swap over all of the diesel driveline to a rust free FJ60, since you could not get diesel 60 series Land Cruisers in the US, but you could in Canada. He flew in and drove it home.

EDIT: a sign of the times... note the suction mount holder on the windshield for the portable GPS. That's what we were using back in 2006-2010, it was the height of technology, lol! I probably didn't even have my first smartphone yet. I remember getting a single DIN Sony XPLOD AM/FM/CD radio with an iPod connection for this Land Cruiser at Best Buy to replace the defective aftermarket 1990s AM/FM/Cassette. I thought I was so cool then.

 

I came from a long line of GM trucks but my first Toyota was a 2010 Rav4. I didn't take pictures of it but it looked exactly like this one. My youngest son even came home from the hospital in it. I drove it awhile and my wife got to wanting something new so I traded it in for her a new 2015 Highlander. I drove her old car (2010 Ford Fusion) for almost four years and sold it to my BIL and bought my Tundra. Best decision ever!

 

My first Toyota was a 79 Corolla I bought new (my first new car). I rolled it and totaled it before the first oil change. The only photo of it is the picture of the accident in the news paper. Not one of my finer moments.
