    Hello everyone,

This is my first post and I want to thank everyone for all of the knowledge this forum has given me on my 3rd gen crewmax. So many fixes and DIY's I stopped counting after the Pop & Lock install.

I did some digging and I wanted to know if anyone has repainted a faded Bak Flip. Mine takes a pounding in the sun all day and I wanted to see if anyone has repainted one. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

For faded plastic, the best thing you can do is use a heat gun and gently treat the UV damaged areas. It will look brand new. I helped my buddy do his Avalanche and we all know those things have some serious UV fading issues on their molding.

If it's painted, that might be more of an issue...

[IMG]Im a big fan of the Chemical Guys line. Thanks for the recommendation and i have the product on its way. I was looking to spruce up the underside and wheel wells so this looks like it will kill 2 birds with 1 stone.

Definitely! I use dollar store degreaser, a scrub brush with a handle and the garden hose to get my wheel wells clean. I then put a towel over the tire and spray the wheel well with this Chemical Guys Bare Bones. Makes them look showroom clean! Hate having a clean Tundra and filthy wheel wells.
It's like wearing a tuxedo with filthy work boots.

Bare Bones is out for delivery!! Cant wait to try it. While we are on the subject any suggestions what to do about brake dust and iron build up on the inside of a wheel. Like you said "it's like wearing a tuxedo with filthy work boots" i hate when the outside is clean and looking through you can see the build up. I've used Sonax, concentrated simple green, and diablo wheel gel. Looking for a hack that will get them looking good through and through.

Hmmm...I put so few miles on my Tundra that I haven't had any build up actually. In the past I have used a name brand Aluminum Wheel Cleaner with good results. Eagle has a good one or Meguiar's.
