Yesterday, I received a late text from a friend of mine with a Police Department I worked closely with in the past. She had asked if I heard about Angel-who I had worked with for at least 5 close years. Angel was always willing to go above and beyond for us. Anything we needed, wanted - she was a text/phone/email away. She never questioned anything I needed- she just handled it and then we would chat about the family, work, etc.

Angel is a widow, who lost her husband years ago. Her late husband was a patrol Sgt. with Westminster.

It was made known to me that Angel had suffered a brain aneurysm and was on life-support for the sole purpose of organ donations. Her immediate family does not want any visitors (I understand) but it completely sucks when there is nothing you can do or say and have to sit on the sidelines.

Life is too short to lose great people. You just never know when the last time you'll see someone you care for.

Im going to stop by the PD after the Monster Jam show and drop off some food- sometimes that will help the guys. Angel was employed with Westminster since the 1990's and will be missed my many.

    RIP, Angel.

Sorry to hear that Sean. You're right. You never know when it's our time. Which is why we need to enjoy the time we do have. My prayers for Angel and her family. May the Sgt. Rest In Peace. And a man hug for you, buddy.

Well that was a tough one to read. That leaves a lump in my throat.

Sorry for the loss of a personal friend and a valuable uniformed officer. Thanks for sharing Angels story. She appreciated that I'm sure.

Thanks guys. She wasnt uniformed- she was a civilian employee but worked with the public, a lot. Prior to that she was dispatch for a number of years.

    My mistake, I just assumed.

Uniformed officers get a lot of support from many resources behind the scenes. They are just as important in my eyes, and much appreciated from the badge side of things.

No worries there, Chris. I would have assumed the same not knowing.

She will be truly missed by her department. Im hoping they will announce when the funeral arrangements will be. I literally just had lunch with her two weeks ago. She was telling me how excited she was about her new vehicle purchase and was trying to figure out all of the bells and whistles.

It feels weird just looking at her name in my phone and seeing it there now.

Sean, I work as a Family Nurse Practitioner in the Emergency Room. I have seen lightning strike when people least expect it. As a Believer, I have to remind myself that not my will but His will be done. Sorry to hear about your loss.
