Ordered the drivers side handle kit from Sparks a couple weeks ago. It arrived yesterday, but I didn’t feel like messing with it while this storm was moving in. We got a break from the rain so decided to throw it in. Should have been a quick kill, but......
I guess for 2020 they added that wire bundle the arrows are pointing to. The pillar piece in my truck has a cutout to accommodate this. The pillar piece that comes with the sparks kit does not. Dremel time!

The instructions I found somewhere showed cutting that relief section out. It's not visible once installed so pretty simple cutout with a tin snips.

Yep, same here. I was forewarned that it needed to be trimmed. Easy peasey. Great mod by the way, especially since I raised the truck a bit.

Looks great buddy, plan on doing that myself. I don't understand why Toyota refuses to put that grab handle in these trucks at the drivers door.

The Oh Shit handle part number is for the older Tundra’s when it came from the factory that way. Now they have curtain air bags and more electronics go through there and require a notch like the new ones

thought it was funny my 2002 Tacoma has this handle (smaller of course in it) but my new tundra did not. IIRRC this handle is from a second gen tundra or may a sequoia or 4-runner? correct me if im wrong but that's what is different about the little notch having to be cut.

I installed mine a couple months ago and honestly I've only used it once or twice, it will probably be helpful on the trails if my truck is on an incline or something. I bought it because I saw alot of people on this forum have it and thought I would use it all the time. The mod bug is definitely present lol I'm young and nimble so I'm always in and out of my truck really quick and grabbing the handle seems like it makes it take forever to get in and out of the truck.

I had to train myself to use it. I was used to using the steering wheel when I first got the truck. But I have broken that habit now for the most part.

The handle works great for getting in sideways so you can kick the snow off your boots.

I have had one in every 4X4 I have owned my entire life and use it every time I get in. Big tires and a lift make it a no brainer

Same here, I have RB20 steps which are pretty wide but I use the handle to get in so I don't have to jump in the seat in order to prevent my ass dragging the edge of the seat. Growing up with late 90's Chevrolet trucks with leather I had to learn not to do the ass drag getting in and out to keep the seats from splitting at the seam.

One of the first things I installed on my Pro. Just didn't feel right grabbing the steering wheel every time. Plus I'm a little OCD. Having one on the passenger side and none of the driver side just seemed wrong. LOL:curls:

I need to do this too. My 07 had the grab handle of course. My 14 Limited has the leather wrapped steering wheel and the previous owner clearly used the steering wheel to get in. A lot. I've had to recondition the leather because it gets worn down somewhat. The grab handle is a must have for sure.

Looks real good. But for me I have no problem just grabbing my steering wheel to get it and I have a 6” lift and I’m 5’2” maybe if I knew how I would but I don’t so steering wheel it is for me

    Hello friend Ginzu,

I appreciate your input here. I like the Windshield pillar Trim with grab handle you installed and I am going to do it on my 2019 Tundra Platinum. I have the Pillar Trim ( Part #62220-0C050-B0) and the grab handle (Part #74610-0C082-B0) on the way. When I watched the You Tube video of BobMotive, he was mentioning that the lower bolt hole for the grab handle is blocked with a plastic bush and it needs to be popped out and insert a threaded insert to bolt the grab handle lower screw. Have you noticed this? What type of threaded bolt insert we need to buy if not there already? Is the kit comes with any screws and nuts?

I put one on my 20 1794 and didn't have to go buy anything, can't remember if everything came in the package but other than cutting the notch it was ready to go on. Edit: looks like it came with the threaded clip I remember it now and having to position it away from the airbag.

Pretty soft plastic, so not hard to trim out that section. I don't like grabbing the steering wheel to get in.

The kit had everything you need, including hardware. I almost missed it, but double checked the box.

Just be careful working around the piller airbag if you don't disconnect the battery. I left the battery connected-- just moved slowly and made sure not to touch the air bag with anything.

I always disconnect my battery when doing anything electrical on my tunny. Common sense. Most of the electrical/wiring issues/failures posted here on the forum is because the battery wasn't disconnected and I will always point out that minor detail .............

Thank you Ginzu! (and Sparks Toyota)... the drivers grab handle installed! It's super helpful on the lifted truck. Our 06 Sequoia has it on both sides from factory and always appreciated that...made it feel more fourby4!
