I have a Sony XAV-68BT DVD, few years old. but runs well. Has bluetooth and a back up camera. I mounted my camera in my handle so its not obvious. Bought a cheap aftermarket handle, didnt use the OEM, but it broke anyway...

Also grounded the DVD player behind the headunit so i can watch movies while driving :)

If I could ask. How long would you say the entire install took you?
Like the idea of the backup camera.
Do you use it. is it worth the extra work?
Also I do occasssionally have the need to remove my tailgate. Do you think it would work with the camera in another location?
    Thanks

I did it in stages, starting with the headunit. That took maybe 2 hours? The backup camera was even less. My OEM latch on my tailgate broke, so i bought a cheap one on Amazon and drilled a hole in it to mount the camera. I bent a piece of aluminum so it would bolt on to the latch mount inside the tailgate. It's wired using a wireless AV transmitter so i didnt have to run wires under my truck and through the cab, cuz i was lazy haha. I use my back up camera a lot and its worth the time it took to install for me. My DC feels like a boat backing up!

I ran a wire into the drain hole at the bottom of the tailgate. You could install some sort of quick disconnect right there for when you detached it, but with how mine is wired now, i cant take my tailgate off.

Backup camera is for sure worth it. I used one of the license bracket cameras and there's enough room to remove the tailgate without disturbing it.

Nice install. I have a question for you. I installed a wireless back-up camera on my uncle's Chevy truck. He has Bluetooth phone connection through the factory stereo. It appears the camera is on a similar frequency to the BT, because there's terrible interference on the backup cam screen. If I shut off BT on the phone so the stereo isn't trying to connect, the interference goes away.

    Any interference with your system?

Do you have to remember what brand you used. Sounds like the best for me. And rather get one I know someone has tried and works decent..
    Thanks

No I haven’t notice any interference. That’s weird it’s doing that.

Apparently it's the 2.4 gH frequency that's the problem. The camera and BT are both in that spectrum.
