    Hi all,

Unsure if i messed up something with my recent install but wanted to bounce this off you guys. I installed my T1 last week and today was the first rain it experienced. It wasnt even that hard, id say a moderate 1 hour shower at most. But i got water in the bed by the cab. It appears to have leaked down where the security straps hang down. And the ends of the straps were also wet. I did use the weatherstripping provided and it looks pretty tight to the bed. I do see 'daylight' in each corner of the bed where the cover and the bed dont really come together, unsure if theres anything i can really do about that as its lower than the cover. Please see attached pic showing the water in the bed. Thanks.
    Mike

You need to shoot a dap of rtv in that gap or use some foam. RTV is removable but durable.

That actually isn't that terrible for a cover. No water is a pipe dream I'm fairly sure unless you go fiberglass and over the rails.

We also have a Tyger, and I "saw light" under the front edge during install. I added an extra thick piece of foam there, and the light went away. I think RTV might also be an acceptable solution, though. Put down a bead on the foam and tighten down the clamps. This should make a watertight seal and allow removal later. Don't forget to clean the bed rail with Rubbing alcohol prior to application of the RTV, so it will stick better and allow better removal later.
    Good luck with your work

Did you ever figure out a fix? I just installed the same cover and noticed water in the bed. Straps were wet like yours. I did use the foam seal at the front.

Seems like water is using the straps as wicks and following it into the bed.

I emailed Tyger tech support and got the answer I expected, the generic "did you install it correctly" answer.

"Please check if there is any gap between the cover and truck bed, we will suggest you to check underneath the bed cover with the cover opened and tailgate closed, and see if there is any light coming in."

I repositioned the cover. Tightened the clamps a bit more the the 1st time. Now to wait for the next rain storm.

Just an update for anyone else in the future. I repositioned the cover about 1/8" towards the tailgate. A bit of the weather strip is exposed now. 2 rain storms and no more water leaching into the bed by the safety roll up straps.

I have 2 that have given me zero problems so far. Just make sure that foam hasn’t shifted. +2 on the RTV suggestion though. (I check mine every spring and fall and reposition and re-tighten the clamps if needed)

Yesterday, I installed a Tyger T1 cover on my Tundra Double cab.
After reading the posts on here, i installed my clamps at the very end of the deck rail system , i took the black end caps off to have the clamps at the very end of the rail and as close to the corners of the cover, and tightened the clamps fairly tight to squeeze the foam down.
Installation was fairly easy, took my time.
I installed it in the middle of the day, so it was real warm and the cover layed out good but the cover is tight.!
The rear adjusted shows 4 adjustment marks, so the adjuster is at the loosest setting.

Hopefully it'll stretch out a bit, because in the winter, i don't think i'd get it to close.
So... I got it all installed, looks good. then in the evening, we got a rain shower, like a 5 minute shower, and yep.... water in my box.
And.... for the little bit it rained, there was somewhat of a puddle, similar to the pic posted in this thread.
    Right where the straps are.
i looked, it seams the the bow by the cab , bows up in the middle, there was a bit of light showing, it almost needs a middle clamp along that back end.
I'll give it a few days, and if the light still shows, i'll re-adjust it.

I like the way it looks, its tight, and fits good.
Kind'a disappointed about the water for the little bit it rained.

But hey..... now i can open up my sliding window and not have the the crap and dirt fly up out of the box and into the cab. :)
