I did have a company who does various things for the dealers put one in for me. I believe it cost me around $200 for it. The company was Dealerworks if I recall.

Was it the factory alarm with GBS? Do you know if it was the Vehicle Intrusion Protection RS3200+ (PT398-34142)?

No, it wasn't the factory alarm. I thought I could activate the system, but it appears the SR did not have everything it needs for the alarm system. So, it is an after market one they installed. This company installs the after market stuff for the dealers in the area.

Yes I realized later that I did not get the color I wanted, but the cost difference was much better for me and I was able to add what I wanted onto my truck.

Trebor57 , do you have the part # for the fog light relay you used? I have the lights installed and the stalk ordered but need to get the correct relay. Dealer is no help.

So if you are to update your SR with all the items that would make it a higher trim, intermittent wipers, power review mirror, fog lights, etc. It still remains an SR on paper right? I'm assuming these upgrades add no value to resale or trade in value? I only ask because I'm in the process of adding these kind of upgrades to my SR in order to make it less basic. But I am looking to buy a Crew Max 2022 or 2023 and don't want to put too much into the vehicle if it doesn't help the value. I know lifts and whatnot add no value.

It wouldn’t add any value to the truck for resale. Your still an SR model on paper.

I saved over 8000.00 by going with the SR over an SR5 back in November I didn’t get my 1st color choice but the black was my 2nd choice with all my updates to date I’m still not even close to a base SR5 and the engine difference was not an issue for me the 4.6 does everything I need.

Mine is also an SR, my first choice was Blue, but I guess that is not on this model, so I settled on white. I also have the 4.6 as well, does great for what I need.

I actually went in looking at the Tacoma’s and after hitting my head three or four times getting into it the salesman asked if I wanted to drive a Tundra after driving it I was hooked but I couldn’t see paying and extra 8000 for the 5.7 and a couple of additional options
The only colors I could find on any lots at the time were the red and black at the time my first choice was also blue but the black was my second choice which I’m glad I did I’ve only got a few more things too add to it.

Not sure if you are still looking but I have a complete bed rail set with 8 cleats if you are interested.

Great looking truck. Haven't read the complete thread but I like your ideas. Has anyone installed fog lights to the SR model?

I have finally added a NSV Lightbar to my 2018 Tundra from https://www.nsvauto.com/copy-of-body-kits

The lightbar can full light as in below, the left and right can light only or a swipe (like in Knightrider, just not red) :)

    IMG_6876.HEIC.jpg

The lightbar replaces the fake vent and looks like it is a factory installed item

Below is the switch panel, which is also included. Everything you need is included with the purchase of the lightbar. Instructions are simple, Well, I know I found them as simple.

Recently installed some accent lighting and powered aftermarket switch via add a fuse - but now can’t reinstall cover

Anyone with 18’ SR know of a switched/ key “on” hot wire in drivers kick panel
That I can tap into ???
Was also told in another thread on here that the light blue or what I call aquafresh color wire in neighboring switches was the illumination wire for switch back light but did not work for me ??
