Did a quick rinse on the truck today and noticed some nasty water spots i never noticed before under the wax/Beadmaker. Whats the best way to safely remove what i have on there, so i can remove the spots? Would a clay-mitten remove all the wax without harming the factory clear-coat, or is there a better way?....Thanks.

You can see the spots in the mid to lower right side of my pic, if you squint just right. :)IMG_0878.jpg

Sorry, I thought that was the glass at first so I wrote something dumb.
I'm not big into detailing but I did want to strip my Tundra before polishing and waxing.
In the past I always used Dawn dish soap. People told me it's too harsh, though I never saw a problem with it.
I bought some of this, works about the same.

But yes, a clay bar is designed to do just that, strip the surface without harming the clear coat.

Meguiars Scratch X 2.0. I used this a couple of weeks ago for bird poo stains/marks and water stains. Worked pretty good for me.

Thanks for the suggestions, it really helped. :hattip: Wanted to try to get this done today since i had the day off, and it wasn't going to rain. My local hardware store had very little product to choose from, but it did have the Meguiar's Grumpy suggested. After washing the hood off with some hot water and Dawn, i think it may have removed some/most of the bead maker i had on there. A little buffing took the stains right out and now looks brand new....Thanks again.

I'd go clay bar as well. It's the only way to get the windows perfect and I assume that would apply to the paint as well.

A clay mitt will usually get it off, but I’ve had to step it up on occasion. I haven’t tried Scratch X for that purpose, but it’s definitely a good product. Glad it worked! You’ll need to reapply your Beadmaker though. I’ve heard Dawn will strip pretty much any protection off, and the Scratch X definitely did.

Never used Scatch-X. What I'm seeing in those pics are the first level of water spots....largely topical and have not etched at all. I'm a big BeadMaker fan, largely for the stupd gloss and slickness it gives you. I am, however, starting to question it's ability to protect.

I'm thinking this was my fault and not the bead makers. I didn't have this problem on any of the other paint except for the hood, and a little on the cab roof. It was definitely underneath because i couldn't just clean it off the Bead Maker. I think i might have rushed the application before i had the truck completely dry?..:facepalm:Not sure.

    To much to list:)
I just use wax if I notice to many spots. If there isn’t many the Bead Maker gets what we miss when drying, after we dry we go back and use the BMaker. Or I reckon you can Use a very fine rubbing compound then wax then use bead maker. On small scratches and water spots I have also used rubbing compound on a damp micro towel then the wax and then bead maker
