    I had a 1988 sidestep GMC pickup, in 1988.
They stole both rear view mirrors off the truck.
I didn't notice it until I was halfway to work...:eek2:

The place where you had your frontrunner rack installed is likely where they cased your stuff. Probably work there and got your address from a invoice or something from inside the truck. All they have to do is push home on your navigation and bingo they got your address

Very sorry to hear about what happened to your S8. I live in LB also, if I hear or catch anything suspicious I will report to you. I'm always worried about all of my XL80's I have on my truck as well. LB is LB things will never change here and I am at the age where I just sadly dont like representing the vicinity anymore as I use to in my teens.

Where you are isn't so bad, but near University and Chicago is where I saw it. At the Winchels Donut store there. I used to work right by there across from the high school.

Got it. You talking about good ol East side “ghetto” haha then yea I see crazy shit over there. I work by Lake Alice so I’m close to all the downtown shenanigans. We have the local homeless but every week we see 2 new ones at least. It’s crazy down there.

Sounds plausible. The install guy would know how it was installed and have the tools to remove it. Maybe he tells his buddy where and what to get to give him deniability.

Lake Alice and Worthingtons were my favorite bars for years. A lot of wild stuff went down there.

Cordless angle grinder for $50 and that bar is gone in 60 seconds easy. Not sure how you can prevent that, even welding the bolts is of minimal help with modern tools.

Seems like some one knew what he had. OP said they removed security hardware so they had the correct tools already. I doubt thieves walk around with specialty tools.

Get some cameras OP I have a few for a few different reasons. One is i know exactly when the lawn guy cuts my grass so I can keep track and not be charged extra. I still need to set one up in the garage itself.
