I got 20.4 mpg once. Ever. The truck was N/A running 89 octane non-ethanol gas and I was working at it, and I certainly wasn't going over 70 mph.

Mat, I was wanting to use your E85 tune for my tow/haul button in the upcoming revision; however, I'm finding that there are no E85 offerings here, although there used to be. I am finding Ethanol-free. What are your thoughts about running Ethanol-free with your tune? Benefits, disadvantages? Thanks.

Apbreaux, I've ran the last 4 tanks with non-ethenol rule and my truck has more power and better mpg...there is more energy available in non-ethenol fuel than its counterparts when measured with the same volume...try it out, I doubt you'll be remised for trying it!

Ya, I get my best mileage with E0. That's what gasoline used to be before they started diluting with ethanol.

According to internet.exe, E10 has around 3% less energy than gasoline. Amusing factoid: regular fuel really contains 82-84 octane gasoline. 10% ethanol raises it by 3 points, so 85 in the mountains contains 82 octane fuel, and the 87 octane recommended contains 84, etc. Which is fine, until you get into a batch that seems to have separated and suddenly that 87 octane regular is more like 85 and the truck pings like the chimes of Westminster, or closer to E30 and the truck switches to E85 mode, sending the fuel needle off the proverbial cliff

    E0 FTW

Coming over from a Tacoma, I thrilled to see OVTune developing a tune for the Tundra.

@OVTune will this be a tune like the Tacoma 2.0f or will you support VF Tuning as well?

Curious to know if you were able to get a pedal-mashing session in this past weekend, and if there was anything about it that stood out that you'd be willing to share.

The “pedal mashing session” is not defined any where. I know among the 3680+ posts in here that has been mentioned and the only answers have been from the customers. Has Mat defined what we should be doing each time?

The "pedal mashing session" that I was referring to was Mat sharing that he was going to try to have his Tundra on the dynamometer over the weekend. I asked if there was anything that might be of interest that he would be willing to share.

I'm not sure what you're asking, could you clarify?

I was referring to data logging, I done it a few times about 8 months ago was the last one. It does not tell you what to do just notifies you of a new file

    Ah, okay.

If I may be so bold as to go out on a limb by saying that I suspect that Mat may have all the data logs that he needs for most N/A Tundras. That will allow him to move forward with the release of the vF tuning software. I think it would be fair to say that unless you're going to make fueling/timing/etc. changes to your tune (or personalized tuning/issues), you won't need to worry about sending logs in any longer unless specifically ask by Mat via email.

Working on some harrop tuning, and will have more updates for you guys as soon as possible.

We are trying to get a clean graph, but this truck has massive 37s and gears, etc

Those interface spikes aside, current results are looking very good.

Torque is very very linear, and power is perfectly balanced.

I have a lot more dyno images and data to show but we have it right at 425 wheel horsepower and 425 ft lbs of torque.

400+ ft lbs available from 2500 rpm to 4000 RPM.
Torque is flat 375 ft lbs from 4000 to 6200

These results will look lower because his trucks wheel and tire setup is creating a lot of losses.

Mind if I ask? When the above mentioned updates go out, are you still interested in having logs sent in for your cache of data, or are you going to address that topic in the emails? I was speculating that you may have an adequate amount for N/A trucks, but didn't know if you'd still be interested in data from S/C'd trucks as they are probably in the minority.

    @OVTune

    Hey Matt,

I just installed my SC and tried to flash your SC tune..

It appears like my tune may not be flashing correct. I sent in an email to zendesk showing the flasher data/readout. (#5357, Daniel Hardman)

Can you please take a look and see if you can confirm if it took? I read the stock ECM, flashed, and then read the ECM again. All that is in the email. CVN, Cal file, all seem to stay the same.

I tried doing gearlock (cruising in S5 with tow/haul at about 50mph and give it decent throttle).. it downshifts to 4.
Also tried doing direct shift.. (From a stop go to S2 and drive off.. its definitely starting in 1 and shifting into 2).

    TYVM,
I want to be sure it's taking so I dont mess the truck up.

If at any point in the text it said "successful", it was. Otherwise it will say "unsuccessful" somewhere along the way. Also, it'll say "Erasing area", and "Writing area", if my memory is serving me properly.

This is the only part that worries me:
    Interface: Tactrix Inc. - OpenPort 2.0 J2534 ISO/CAN/VPW/PWM
    DLL: 1.02.4791 Jun 2 2016 12:43:17
    Firmware: 1.17.4877
    15:46:26 Identification
    15:46:27 Reading area 1
15:46:27 Wrong ECU selected <------------------- *****HERE****
    15:46:27 Completed unsuccessfully

This was only during the read (both before AND after flashing)

The flash did say successful, however on my previous truck's OVTune I was very aware of the gearlock and this one I was "checking to confirm the flash" and it doesnt seem to be there.

Hmm, ya. Honestly, I don't know what to say here. I guess that we'll have to hold out and see what Mat has to say about it.
