Anyone have any experience with Iron Cross, particularly their Patriot series. Install and looks?

I like that they have a 5 year warranty on the black and lifetime on the stainless steel.

    Thanks!

@cmp1960 , @joonbug is correct, I have them and like them a lot. They are identical to the OEM ones that come on the XP mammoth package that I had on my 2015. They are a simple design, which I like quite a bit. A bonus is Iron Cross teamed up with the Folds of Honor foundation and a portion of the proceeds go directly to the foundation in support of military families.

Excellent.. I go back and forth on the black vs the stainless steel. I like the black as it blends, but the stainless breaks it up a little and the lifetime warranty on the stainless is appealing as well. What prompted you to go with black...the blend with your TRD Pro gear? Also, did you install them? Custom fit? Any drilling? Also, where did you get them and would you recommend that vendor? Thank you!!

Like @GNTundra said, I went with black bc it goes with my theme. No, I didn't install them myself, I ordered them from a local shop and they did the install while I waited. I watched them and can confirm there was no drilling involved. When you order them, be sure to note that the brackets are listed seperate, so you'll need order those as well.

A small percentage of some of the reviews I've read say that the boards flex a little compared to others they have had. Have you experienced this or are those folks to hyper critical?

I haven't experienced a flexing issue, but they've only been on a week or so and I haven't tried to flex them either. I always take reviews with a grain of salt bc there are actually people out there more critical and OCD than me and they are always the ones that post reviews.

@cmp1960 My tires stick out a little further, but I'm running a +18 offset on 295 tires, so they stick out a bit. Here is a pic of mine along that axis...the tire you see is the rear.

Thanks, Lou.. If it's not too much trouble, could i ask you to take a pic, like the one above, but step back about 15 feet to get a look see from that distance? Thanks!

Louscrw is spot on -- and the pictures he provided are better than mine.

I recently installed these on my truck. The install was easy, it took me less than an hour by myself. The boards look great, they're reasonably priced, and part of the proceeds go to a worthy cause.

I haven't experienced any flex in the boards. Granted, I'm not a heavy guy but they seem very sturdy.

I'm running the Bak Revolver X2, and I'm happy with that as well. Again, install was easy and it looks good on the truck.

I just ordered mine moments ago. I was going back and forth on the more OEM style, but the larger footprint and the stealthier look and being involved with our service folks was compelling as well. Once I get them and install I will take pics for those who are in the same boat...

I got mine Iron Cross Patriots from Auto Anything. Wasn't sure about gen but I've got a few things from them with good success.

I looked at a number of running boards and settled on the patriots without seeing them up close other than a few pics above. THey are made in the USA and part of the sale goes to Folds of Honor.

They are excellent and have far exceeded my expectations. Would highly recommend them. There nice looking and blend well With your white truck I beleive they have stainless steel. Hope this helps.

@louscrw with the patriot board installed, are they level with the body of the truck; or are they level with the ground?

My Tundra came with the stealth boards. I did a 3/1 SST Ready Lift, and now I visually notice that there is a lean to the boads. The front end is higher than the back. I assume this was level with the ground... so the lean compensated for rake of the vehicle. Now that I have leveled the truck, that rake is gone. I have not measured, but I would guess there could be 3/4" slope from the front to back of the board on my crewmax. (and there seems to be no good avenue to adjust this with the current brackets)

If the Patriot board sits level with the body, then I would consider buying the brackets ($90) to correct the lean. If not... then I will have to get more aggressive and slot my brackets and/ or work out some way to shim.
