It doesn't look like anyone has confirmed this will work on a 2020. Anyone?

Trying to decide between this and the KTJO kit.

On the install instructions, it says 2019+ (which is really 2014+)

I’d highly recommend this kit over any others. This is Very high quality and the actuator is very quiet (the ktjo one on my tacoma is loud af)

It’s well worth the money and install is super simple.

I can confirm it works on a 2020. Just got my 2020 Tundra on 3/20, and it was literally the first thing I had installed.

Thanks @ARMYGREEN for trying this out on the pre 2018s! Just ordered one for my 2016. It won't do a whole lot of good with my Softtopper, but all part of the plan as I save up for a Leer

EDIT: Worked great and installed perfect on 2016

I am confused with which tailgate lock to get. Don't the crewmax and double cab have the same wheel base? The instruction manual distinguished the 2 tailgate locks based on wheel base.

Wheelbase is the same, but the grommet for entry point into the cab would be in a different position on the loom due to the different cab configurations.

Not True. The crewmax and the double cab with 6.5 feet bed use the same part #. Both uses the shorter of the 2 harness kit. I just finished installing the lock kit on my double cab with 6.5 feet using the shorter kit. The harness length is perfect. So the longer kit is for the double cabs with 8 feet bed. By the way, this is a very nice kit because of the plug and play (no splicing) and the 3 new replacement grommets.

Damn, another mod on the covid list! Sounds easier than the Tacoma pop a lock one I installed before I sold it.

Need some help. So I installed the oem unit on my 2018 crew max limited and it doesn’t work. I noticed that the instructions show the bottom blue plug but I used the middle one and the plugs fit, however it doesn’t lock or unlock while my doors lock and unlock. Anyone have a suggestion would really help. Thanks

Just finished the install on my 2020 Double Cab -- 6.5' bed. I can confirm that the PK3B6-34SJ0 works for my configuration.

From what I gather - because the wheel base is the same -- the PK3B6-34SJ0 works on both the DC 6.5 and CM 5.5. The PK3B6-34JL0 choice must be for the DC 8' bed as the following references "Extra Long Wheelbase" https://www.*****************.com/o...te-power-lock-extra-long-wheelbase-pk3b634jl0

I paid $139.09 local dealer's online price - picked up.

I was extremely impressed with this kit:
    • Fully plug-and play in an easy access location
    • Exact length wire harness'
    • OEM wire protector to handle two wire looms for the tailgate/bed passthroughs
    • All components in wire looms
    • Shaped grommet for wire passage - taped off to defeat water intrusion
    • High quality tape / zip ties
    • Instructions must be some of the best I've ever seen
For the price - I can't imagine going the non-OEM route.

Next step is figuring out how to cleanly integrate the Leer 100XR keyless entry kit. I would love to be able to source a set of male/female connectors that matched the tailgate harness connection of the OEM kit. That way - I can fabricate a simple tap there for the Leer Cap. Any insights here would be greatly appreciated. I still have some time as the Leer build time is another 5 weeks.

I'm getting ready to do the OEM Power Tailgate Lock kit installation. After scoping everything out, I found that the grommet on the passenger side floor that is to be discarded and replaced with the one incorporated with the kit wire harness per instructions, already has a wire harness (cargo bed lights) in it. Does anyone have a suggestion other than cutting the grommet to allow for the addition wire harness to go through the same hole.
I am attaching a photo of the existing wire harness from the cargo bed lights.IMG_4241.jpg

Hi - welcome to the forum and great first post.

I think you best bet is to:

    (1) find where the bed lights are connected, disconnect the harness and fish through the new tailgate lock grommet, or
    (2) if you cannot remove the footwell foam support and get to the bed light connector, I would cut the bed light wiring fish through the new grommet and re-splice (solder, shrink tube, etc)

While #2 may look scary, it is probably the easiest.

I personally would avoid cutting the radius of the new grommet. I wouldn't want to lose the water sealing integrity of the grommet.

    Good luck!

I installed the oem bed lighting and tailgate lock at the same time elnopal advised that is what he did with some sealer. That worked great for my install but much easier when fishing both looms at the same time. Cutting and splicing back together after threading the grommet. Cutting and Splicing a ways away from the grommet inside and away from road elements would get my vote to double run both wire looms through the lock grommet. The OEM Tailgate lock is a great add on. Good luck.

@Roman thanks for attaching the power tailgate instructions. Just finished mine. Super easy, just a pain sliding on concrete on your back.
