I may have gone down a rabbit hole, and over thinking this...

I got a C4Fab Hybrid bumper, powder coated and ready. And a light bar, and three sets of fogs to mount into it. I plan to wire the light bar to a dash switch. I plan to wire one set of SAE compliant fogs to my stock (existing) fog light control.

And the other two sets, I want to wire together to a single dash switch. Partly because I only have three blanks to add switches to, and one of those is being saved for an air compressor install, so I’m left with two blanks for lighting switches. And partly because I don’t see a need to control them individually.

So my question is this. Can I just splice together the two sets, to one wiring harness and run that one harness to a switch?

In my quest to validate my assumption, I’ve been here for a few nights reading about light installs, wiring, relays, and sucked into naughty thoughts of SPOD and Switch Pros. I literally had SwitchPros in a cart awaiting payment... But. And that’s a hard But. I have enough blanks, and I already have the “OEM” switches, and I don’t plan on any additional accessories...besides maybe a winch, which wouldnt go on the switch pro anyway.

So. If you’ve know the answer to the simple question, please save me from another night of reading, and more likely save me $600 and a wait for shipping of a switch pro.

some considerations. The two fogs I want to control on one harness are:
    Rigid D Midnight pro @ 29watts
    Rigid SR-M Midnight pro @ 10 watts
    39w / 12v = ~ 3.25 amp draw

the wiring harnesses for both these sets do not have a relay. I do however have a harness that I can use from a set of DXLs that do have a relay. The DXLs I plan to plug n play directly to the stock wiring.

so what started as “I’ll just splice together the (non relayed) harness all willy hilly” turned into “well shit, should I use the relay harness instead...or is that relay too weak...or should I buy a relay and wire my own harness...or ooooh that SwitchPro is pretty...”

surely, fogs can be spliced together. But what should I look out for?

    ...save me

All I know is I have two sets of diode dynamic saw approved dogs hooked up to my stock fogs. I got a splitter and they work no problems.

3.25amps isn't much draw. Stock replacement Sylvania halogen bulbs are 1.9amps though.

Might be a good idea to run the relay. Or plug them in and you pop the fuse then you know it's a no go. Replace the fuse and use the relay.

The splitter I used was $15 off Amazon. You can try it and if it doesn’t work than do what @GiantsFanDan said

If you are running a harness from the battery to the dash, this is the splitter that you need. https://www.amazon.com/iJDMTOY-Y-Sh...hape+splitter+light+bar&qid=1590672465&sr=8-1 I run 2 sets of Rigid Duallys on mine with no issues. The splitter that @Alexstundra linked is for the fog light connector.

@Tundra234 yup, I’ve had those in my cart but was waiting to see if that method would cause draw issues on the included rigid harness.

@Alexstundra appreciate the responses, but yeah, I’m going from 2 fogs-rigid-harness-new dash switch

So. I’ll just plug n play, if a fuse blows, I’ll go the route of a relay

    appreciate the help guys

Ranch Hand headache, Bodyguard Traditional Extreme Front Bumper, Ranch Hand Rear Bumper, ICON struts and shocks - 3" lift. LED exterior light conversion. KC Off-Road LEDs on front bumper.
Just out of curiosity, what did you end up doing? I have 2 6" KCs I want to add to my new bumper but not sure if I should add to the same switch as fog lights are on, or use a separate switch?
