    What's up fellas.

    So, let's hear your opinions on going full synthetic on a 2011 5.7L v8 tundra vs. non-full synthetic. And how often are you guys changing your oil? I am at 56k miles, my average trips are between 5-15 miles, and it's 70% street/ 30% highway.

    Do an oil analysis and base it off of that.

    Mobile 1, 7K miles. Did my 09 Taco at recommended 7K intervals too with M-1 with no issues.

    With full synthetic oil (that is a loose term now days) you can go 10k miles between oil changes. Myself, I do 5k mile intervals. Oil is cheap. Motors, not so much. I also consider use when changing oil. My current oil has 2500 miles of all highway to CA and back to CO, 2000 miles of mixed city/highway, 500 miles of towing/work. After today I can add another 110 miles to the towing mileage.

    I use Mobil 1 0W-20.

    Given that you do mostly short trips, I'd suggest full synthetic @5k interval. I do mostly Highway driving, and change mine @ 10k miles.

    Mobil 1 Extended Performance, every 12 months. I racked around 3k per year since I bought this truck. Now it has 16+k miles on it.

    I just purchased a 2017 tundra. The dealership gives me free oil changes and tire rotation for as long as I own the truck. They run synthetic oil and said they do the oil changes every 10 k. And tire rotation at 5 k. He said it's fine to put 10 k with synthetic but I think I'll just get them to change it at the 10 k and 20 k mark and I'll be changing it at the 5 k and 15 k marks etc. any thoughts?

    I run Mobile 1 in all our units, and have a set interval of 3500 miles. I know many will say there's no need to change in that timeframe, and they're probably right - but screw it - oil's cheap and I have a couple of pricey units. A happy motor makes for a happy owner.

    Changing your oil is your own call. Just use factory Toyota filters (which are cheaper and better). Your money, your vehicle.

    When I owned my Tundra, really wish that I would have done 7500-10k mile oil changes instead of 5k or under. It was a big waste of money and didn't get me any benifits.
