I've gone from the regular mirrors, to OEM tow mirrors, to GM style tow mirrors. The GM ones by far give the most visibility when both the flat and convex mirror are set up right. On both sides with the GM I can see from my tire over about a lane and a half down at lower bumper height, then the flat mirror I just see my tail lights and straight back from that like normal mirrors. The OEM tow mirrors are a tad small for both flat and convex - the convex I couldn't get down to my tire and see the lane beside me properly, I had to have it set at about the top of my tires. The OEM regular mirrors are really good if you don't care to see your tire, I had a small convex spot mirror stuck on them so there was pretty much no blind spot when driving. I'm just so used to HD trucks with good tow mirrors (GM and Ford) and really like seeing my tire for parking.

For normal driving the OEM regular mirrors are quite good they just have that blind spot that small cars can hide in, OEM trailer mirrors don't do anything good they just do everything, GM trailer mirrors do everything and other than the puddle light they do everything very well, the only way I've been surprised by a car on my shoulder check was the 2 of us side by side but separated by a lane, and we both wanted to change into the middle lane. If only that puddle light pointed down more than pointing back.

These on Amazon look similar, but say they're only good for '07 to '15, mine's a '17. Aren't they the same mirror?

I'm still loving mine. Have no issues with vibration at speed or otherwise but I also made sure to really tighten them on when installing.

It took a little bit to get used to how much the mirror blocks in front as opposed to the standard small OEM mirrors but it's worth it for the rear visibility. I have them set to see from about mid-door driver so have essentially very little blindspot.

Thanks for the update. You got the same ones as the OP. The ones on eBay? I believe it was Superbautoparts.

Yep, from Superbautoparts. I was super skeezed out as I haven't ordered anything from Ebay in ages and ages but purchase was smooth and they shipped no issue.

Only thing I'd wish for is running lights on them but my Tundra is a 2014 so I *think* that would take special wiring which I'm not up to doing so I just deal without.

Looks nice! Have been thinking about getting these, but worried about how much wider these will make the truck. I have to fold one mirror to get in my garage at the moment with OEM mirrors. Do you think you will ever wire up the puddle lights? If I could get power fold added with a plug and play harness, then I would jump on these in an instant!

Ok thanks. Yea I was skeptical on eBay also. I’m probably gonna order them I have a $20 eBay coupon. I was also thinking about adding some switchback led strips in them. We’ll see though. Appreciate the info.

It's not an exact measurement as I'm no where near my truck ATM, but they're likely 3-4 inches (maybe more) wider on each side than the standard OEM mirrors. They're about 1-2 inches wider than the OEM towing mirrors. If you look around ebay they should have power fold mirrors in this style, and with a bit of wiring you can fit your truck with that capability.

You can fix the BSM by swapping the pins I ran into this problem when upgrading to power fold. If you are interested I can look for my post on this forum about the BSM.

Op nice mirrors do they power fold? Or an optional version of them?

Do the aftermarket mirrors that you guys have come with magnification on the passenger mirror like the OE?

Glad you both like the GM mirrors. They have a ton of visibility.

Question, does the LED side illumination lights work?

I love em. Theyre holding up great. No issues. No vibration at 80 mph. Love the visibility. Im thinking about trying to turn the blinker into a running light + blinker. Havent figured out how though.

these arent power fold. Would be nice if they were but they arent

Im assuming they work but they need to be wired separately. Theres a separate wire for them that isnt part of the plug.

im not totally sure. Gonna have to take a better look at it.

Yes it is. The bed lights, cargo lights, and mirror LEDs all come on at once.

They do not, they are flat like the OEM tow mirrors. Takes a little getting used to but it helps with depth perception once you are used to them

I wish I could have gotten these to work on my 2019 Platinum. I purchased the expensive set from A1 but BSM failure came up right away. I also would have had to do a separate switch for the power fold. They still don't offer this mirror with all options as Plug & Play for Platinum. Had I known there was a fix for BSM I would have kept them & wired a separate power fold switch. I still have the white wrap to cover the Chrome. :(IMG_0609.jpg IMG_0610.jpg

flat like the smaller oem sport mirrors on the passenger side? because that is what im looking for as well- i hate how magnified the OEM tow mirror is on the top- actually took them off and put the small ones back on

They are the same as the OEM towing ones - all tow mirrors are like that. The passenger OEM sport mirrors are not flat, they are convex which is why you have the 'objects are closer than they appear' message on them, whereas the top portion of tow mirrors is flat so there's no distortion of what you see in them which will make other cars look bigger.

Well I guess I should update on these. The mirrors themselves have been great, love the visibility when hauling the horse and just in general when backing up. Unfortunately at some point in time the bottom plastic case on the passenger side popped off and disappeared. No impacts or anything, just poof gone. I didn't actually notice until a coworker mentioned it and I was like

These were purchased off Ebay seller so I have a message in but don't have high hopes... Please ignore the bug death, it's spring in New Englandtow mirror.jpg

OOF did the seller ever get back to you? And did you ever take apart the lights to add in the module to change the LED strip to blinkers? Just installed these on my truck but now I'm a little worried mine may fall off too...

I did actually hear back from them pretty quickly. They don't have any replacement parts, just the two mirrors as a set. I could certainly buy a new set and replace that one, uh no thanks.

I briefly entertained having that piece 3D printed but would need to pop off the other side as a template, scan, mirror the image and then attempt a print. I might still give it a go but haven't bothered with it yet. Honestly it's on the passenger side mirror that I hardly see so, meh. I wouldn't worry much about yours falling off. I think mine was either a fluke or bumped by the coworker who mentioned to me that it was missing...

I'm not that electrically inclined so having messed with doing the blinker change but from some other posters it's not that difficult.

If you're looking for an OEM type replacement, these mirrors emulate GM's design and you can pop in their replacement cap. I did that to my tow mirrors as mine came with chrome caps and I wanted black.
