Well, now that it's done, give him one last piece of advice. Tell him to find a good local welder with experience fixing rusted frames, have him inspect it and recommend what it needs to be safe and pay him to do it. Remind him that $2K is a small price to pay for peace of mind as a FAMILY HAULER. He's still only in it for $5K at that point which seems reasonable if the frame is safe and will be going forward.

    He may also need this...

Make sure the seatbelts work for when that truck hits a speed bump and falls apart.

Some people go through life wondering why the are so unlucky.

Perhaps it has some to do with making bad decision after bad decision.

I hope it works out for your buddy, but the odds are high that he's getting neither a good deal nor safe transportation for his kid.

    Bubbadog knows it...so does Ben.

Update? You get a chance to see it yet?

Btw, I'm not letting this thread die until that truck breaks in half.

I’ve seen stuff look like it should have broke but never did. Almost like it defied gravity and physics. These rotten frames with holes are ‘normal’ for northerners.

He bought the Sequoia and loves it. In fact he took it on a road trip and did 90 mph most of the way. He loves the power of the 5.7. Just one thing it's a rust bucket. Told him you are insane brother, he laughed.

I sure will, I will ask him from time to time how she holding up. Like someone said frame may never fall apart by a stroke of luck. I bet he keeps Sequoia a long time.

It was a sequoia all along. As you know it’s a Tundra with different body.

So that's even more weight hanging off the ass end to break it in half on a lift.
