That's exactly what im leaning towards. Wondering if anyone on the Sequoia build threads have done something similar.

Nice write-up Rodrigo. I have an 08 Sequoia Limited that did not originally have puddle lights in the power folding mirrors. Just upgraded to after market power folding with puddle lights. Was kinda expecting they would work but they don't. Anybody out there have a fix to make them work short of following Rodrigo's method where he had no puddle lights?

I'll look at the cargo light diagram tonight and try to find the correct wire i need to tap into. I'll let you know my findings.

Please post back with your findings. After I installed my aftermarket passive keyless entry system the puddle lights have never come on again. Apparently this is what happens when we use an aftermarket alarm. I'm looking to tap my original puddle lights into another circuit that comes alive when the aftermarket remote triggers the locks. Thanks

Will do. Did your Sequoia have stock puddle lights?

Yes, I swapped them to LEDs which are pretty sweet but now they don't come on. Apparently they only come on with the factory key fob. I'll never go back to that! It's too convenient to keep my key in my pocket and have the truck unlock when I get close. Love the PKE.

My Sequoia came with stock puddle lights and it was plug and play. I do use an aftermarket key fob and puddle lights still work.

Still looking for the correct circuit to tap into, i'll keep you guys updated. I also spoke with a buddy of mine who runs an audio/video shop for some insight.

I really appreciate your help. What I was really hoping for was that the harness contained all connected wires and that a fully functioning mirror would be fully plug and play. Apparently that's too much to ask for.

I think you'll have to tap into a source for your puddle lights to work. I am currently almost to the point of giving up and handing it over to my buddy that runs a video/audio shop. I'll leave it up to the pros, but still report back on their findings.

    2011 Limited Sequoia.

I've been doing small upgrades and now this is what it looks like as of yesterday. The puddle lights are the latest update. I will eventually make a build thread.

Did this ever get sorted out? Figured I'd ask before I start digging around myself.

Long story short... we used the interior light switch as the source. Same concept, the puddle lights turn on/off when you either lock or unlock the car. If the car is moving and i decide to turn on ALL the interior lights, the puddle lights will come one. I'm ok with that though, considering how many interior lights we have, i don't see us turning all the lights on at the same time.
