Gen 3 Tundra Double Cab Speaker Upgrade Questions

Hi, I have a 2018 Tundra Double Cab Non JBL Factory Stereo System. I am looking to upgrade the door speakers in my truck and I want to be sure that I am picking the right options. Any input would be greatly appreciated. My stereo does have the 5th speaker in the middle of the dash(I am not sure if I will upgrade it or disconnect it). I am putting in a new head unit this weekend, the Dasatia 10.2.

I am looking to put in Kicker CS Series 6-1/2" component speaker in the front doors and use the tweeters to replace the dash speakers.
In the rear doors Kicker CS Series 5-1/4" 2-way car speakers.
To power it all I was looking at a pioneer 4 channel amp that does 100 watts rms X 4.
Each of the door speakers are rated for right around 100 watts rms.
Wire harness adapter for the factory amp to my new amp also.

I was thinking about ordering it all from Crutchfield because they throw in the door speaker adapter plates and speaker connections for the Tundra.
I think I've planned it out pretty good, but before I make the purchase I wanted to see if I have any big flaws in my layout. Any ideas?

I did the Amp, upgraded speakers (6.5" front and rear i believe) and a small 8" powered sub under the front seat. The sound is leaps and bounds better than factory, essentially still all plug and play, and cost was minimal.

 

I ended up doing it all, I put the tweeters in the sail panels. I went with a different amp

I kinda messed up my sail panels drilling the holes for the tweeters so eventually I'll have to change those out. The panels don't want to fit right now. the hardest part for me was running the power wire through the passenger firewall. I eventually gave trying to pass it through the nipple in the grommet and just popped out the firewall rubber grommet and pushed the wire through. once it cools down here I'll run it right

 

I didn't touch the dash speakers at all

 

FWIW: Working with the same body style, ended up going with components in the front (focal P165 V30’s).

JL stealthbox 8” Sub (technically for older model Tundra’s (2’nd gens I believe)but fits the 3’’d gen just fine

Running stock in the rears, as I didn’t find it necessary for a double cab to have rear fill.

All powered by the JL VXI 1,000/5
The DSP does wonders to negate the headunits sound processing.

Pretty happy with the setup thus far!

 

Is the stealthbox for 2 subs or 1? I saw one for 2 subs but its like $1300.

 

JL does sell an “updated” version for the 3’d gen model years that uses 2 10’” W3 subwoofers. It’s incredibly pricey unfortunately.

A local shop told me the old 8” version that uses a JL W7 (a better woofer for SQ builds) would fit.

It also runs for about $800 if I remember correctly.
It also worked better for my application using a 5 channel amp.


Never would have thought an 8” sub could sound as big as this thing does. JL definitely does some quality audio engineering!

 

okay thanks! I was iffy because the price is so high but if the sub(s) are good it could be worth it, I'll have to look into it for one of my next upgrades. I already have the speakers, amp, and headunit done. I also threw on some tow mirrors from boost auto. And I have some ditch lights I put in. Next is either rims(I have stock steel rims) or subs or roll bar with a light bar or bumpers.
