I mentioned this in the new member section but I figured I’d start a thread to follow any changes made to the truck. Long time toyota family here, we’ve been looking for the RIGHT tundra for a few years. I really wanted a platinum but would have settled for a limited, I know that sounds terrible! Had to be white on Black.

A few weeks ago my wife sent me a 2015 Platinum located right outside Dallas, I’m in Kentucky! Lucky for me the truck was newly traded in and they still had it. The sales man ‘Eddie’ with earth motor cars sent me every picture and video I asked for. After some back and forth and deciding if I was going to fly down and drive it back 800 miles or ship it we decided to ship it up. I have to say... It’s a pretty cool feeling, sight unseen way to receive a package! Haha But hey! It’s a Toyota we don’t have anything to worry about.

It’s a one owner and just under 56,000 miles when I got it.

    Toyota Factory Remote Start
    20” Fuel Vapor Wheels
35x12x20 Nitto Trail Grappler M/T Tires
    BDS 3” Lift Kit
    JL Audio 750/1
    JL Audio 600/4
    JL Audio CleanSweep
    Spyder Projector Headlights (Black Smoke)
Spyder LED Tail Lights (Black Smoke)
    Amp Research Step Bars
    Spray In Bed Liner
    Back Country Floor Mats
Carbon fiber mirror and handle covers

I’m unsure of all the speakers in the truck and if it’s one or two subwoofers. Will pull the doors off and the backseat out eventually to really know. Of course I’m probably missing some stuff!

    Upcoming

Fyre Fly LED’s got the cabin on the way
Will be putting a 10” drop down tv
    Take off the 4X4 badge
Carbon fiber covers will come off the mirrors and handles eventually. Will have them wrapped white.
    Some type of bed cover

Sweet Tundra! Not sure I would be brave enough to purchase sight-unseen, but I'm glad it worked out for you. Looking forward to see what you do with your ride!!

Looks great! I also bought my Platinum sight unseen from the dealer in Florida(I’m in Ga) and also had it shipped here, 2018 with 12k
Miles 1 owner and I am VERY happy I did.

Me personally with the clean Carfax and one owner I was 100% okay with it. Literally the hardest part was just waiting for all the boring paperwork to be over and get it loaded up.

It really is a new experience and I’d be willing to bet this won’t be our last shipped vehicle!

Sitting next to a 2017 Tundra Limited. Actually that’s the first tundra I drove, and I drove it a week before I got mine. Nothing beats a Toyota!

All of the Toyotas are clean! I WISH there had NEVER been a front plate on this truck, also previous owner used some very expensive cables!

I found a receipt in the glove box with the previous owners name. I was able to find him on Facebook and message him with some questions. First I wanted to know what speakers the truck had, he told me all jl Audio. Which I suspected but was glad to hear. I will still pull the door panels and find out for sure at some point.

Second I asked about the lift kit, he said it was a BDS 4.5” lift. I don’t know anything about lift kits, so after a little research it makes more sense. The truck has 35” tires, which according to the BDS website only works with a 4.5” lift. I still plan to learn more and find out exactly what kit was installed.

He did state he loved the truck, he would have kept it. However, it got horrible gas mileage! Haha the MPG weren’t great from the factory, so yeah they were going to get much worse after a lift, rims and tires!

Last, glad to talk to the previous owner. Not sure if he cares but I think it’s always fun to see where our old vehicles end up! I’m sure he is surprised it went from Texas and was shipped to Kentucky!

So... I assumed it had a 3” lift. I don’t know ANYTHING about lift kits. The previous owner (I found his info in the glove box!) says it’s a 4.5” lift. Which makes sense, according to the BDS website you can fit 33’s under a 3” lift. I have 35’s which fit under their 4.5” lift.

Luckily parked my truck with the bed towards the street last week while we’re were gone on vacation. Backed it in last night, the rain puddled up this morning. After using a flat head screw driver to clean out the drains I decided to pull the rubber grommets because they were sprayed with bed liner. Pretty easy job, and needed to be done!

It acts just like the filters in the furnace of our homes, it filters the air coming into the cabin of the vehicle! Not sure how long this has been done but I've had early 2000 cars that had cabin filters!

All cleaned up for cars and coffee tomorrow! Added the new sticker to the rear window. FINALLY got it registered for Kentucky. After two months my UK plate is on!

Finally got around to removing the 4X4 emblem last week, buddy of mine helped take care of that!

The carbon fiber mirror and door handle covers had to go as well. The clear coat on them kept getting worse! I'd planned to install the white handles and mirror caps when I got the truck anyway. Coming soon!

Couldn’t get all the adhesive off the door handles. The 4in rubber eraser is the tool needed to complete the job ( https://amzn.to/2X5YRvm ). White handles and mirror caps coming soon!

Also received the ford hit kit needed for the handles!
