Been looking around at kits to level the truck 2.5 to preferably 3 inches at a good buck. Leaning towards this OME kit, price is solid and heard good things about em. Comes w OME 90004 Front Shocks x 2 /OME 60091 Rear Shocks x 2 (Rear Shocks Can Accommodate A 0-2" Rear Lift & Poly Spring Insulators (to accommodate the more narrow springs) x 2.

    2885 springs:

    1. Will level no load/stock front end Access Cab.
    2. Will give about 2.5" front lift to a no load/stock front end Double Cab
    2887 springs:
    1. 3" for Access Cabs Or any 2wd
    2. Level a Double Cab
    2888 Springs recommended for
    1. 3" on a Double Cab 4x4
    2. OR level when running a steel bumper and/or winch.

Leaning towards 2887 as I want 3”, if the rear is THAT noticeably
lower I’d probably get some leafs to accommodate. Also redoing with OEM LBJs, sway links and possibly control arms. Thoughts? Anyone have this setup along with some shots? Would a diff raise be necessary? What about CV boots? Would be much appreciated, thanks!

I'm looking at the same kit and the guys are saying get the 1" AALs too or it'll have the squat. I'm thinking about this one:

@bmf4069 Yeah I saw that one also, double the price but you’re also getting UCAs and leafs. Still thinking if I go with my setup, I can buy some 1” rear leafs separately. Got any recommendations?

I’ve got the Front OME coilovers from toytec (885 springs) on my 2002. I’m at 24 inches from hub to bottom of fender flare. Mines 2wd though. With your 4x4, you’d probably end up around 23-23.5. That would be 3 inches, because stock ride height is around 20 inches give or take. With 885’s, you could “possibly” keep your stock UCAs. With 887 you will absolutely need aftermarket arms. I would stick with 885. I wouldn’t want to stress the cv’s anymore than that.

Unfortunately no. I haven't followed much in the way of AALs, since I was never interested in lifting the rear, until I learned 3" in front would probably squat it. I don't do any towing/hauling so i dont need anything special so i figured that kit will work for me. Also, it's my understanding that at 3" the UCAs and CVs are almost a necessity.

Appreciate that bud, great to know. How’s the ride quality? Do you have any before/after shots when installed?

I'd stick with 2885. You'll probably be on the higher side of 2.5 lift. Also plan on UCA and at least restrapping the boots on your cv's (before you do the lift)

OME suspensions tend to run a little higher than advertised, in my experience. They are also very heavy duty, so even their "light load" springs are probably 10% heavier spring rate than stock. Good solid product....run OME on my 4th Gen 4Runner.

I went 886 because I thought the 660lb would be needed for the bumper winch skid plates and it might be but with the bumper and winch I'm at 24" which is def higher than I thought. I still have at least 100+lbs to add with sliders and skid plates so hoping it evens out a bit more than it is currently.

The ride is ok, it’s on the firm side, but that’s just par for the course. I’ll get a couple pictures up later.

Great input thank you. Hypothetically if I keep current stock UCAs, what tends to happen once lifted?

    Looking forward to seeing them!

This is my 2002 with OME (885) toytec coilovers, toytec add a leaf plus a 1 inch rear block. Also using SPC upper arms. Sorry, I don’t have before pictures.

Nice truck & stance. Paint looks fantastic btw especially for black. What’s the tire/wheel setup?

Thank you! The wheel/tire setup is 17x9 (-12/4.5BS) Mickey Thompson classic III with p285/70/17 falken at3w Tire’s. I wouldn’t recommend the falken tires, they are on the aggressive side for an AT tire. They look great, but ride quality suffers because of the mud tire roots.

It's hard to get the truck aligned correctly and the caster number will be really low so the truck will feel squirrelly and floaty on the road. If you've ever driven on a metal grated bridge it feels like that.

Want to revive this bad boy. Life’s been keeping me busy, but good busy.

So yeah in a perfect world I’d want 3” front end level with rear using an OME kit, I’m assuming 8500 would be .5 inch short. No 8700? So shocks and coils swapped, I’d also replace both LBJs, any tinkering with arms, CV, or diff needed?

Lastly, what are you running wheels/tires if you’ve got similar lift/level?

the 885’s will put you at 3 inches for sure. I’m 2wd and my front measurement is at 24 inches:eek2: with the ome coilovers (885’s) from toytec.

I bought this kit and did NOT buy UCA’s... am I in trouble? I did buy the Diff drop kit though.

Which springs did you go with? 885? That should yield i think 2-2.5" which is on the threshold from what the internet told me..

    2885’s came with it.

What’s the consensus for best UCA’s? IE quality & lowest maintenance? I know vets say stick to OEM ball joints.

Spc is very popular. Do some research to see the pros and cons tho. I'm going jba as I really like the ball joint, plus it looks really nice.

I have SPC, and they’re good. However, I’d go for the JBA. Dollar for dollar I think they are definitely the way to go. They were not available when I purchased my spc arms.

I went spc. Didn't want the maintenance of a uniball.
    Never looked into the jba.

This thread much more relevant now than I’m getting my 1.5” Spidertrax spacers in tomorrow (stock suspension). It’s sounding like if I go 885 I better go about doing UCAs and LBJs for best outcome. Thinking OEM balls and SPC arms.

Let me see how your tundra is sitting good sir.
