Reaserching for a good under body rustproofing. Question is what type is a good way to protect my underbody from rusting. I life close to the ocean with salt water about 200 yards from ocean bay and will be parked under a car port under my house so I want to protect my truck as much as possible. Any advice, recommendation and pics would be greatly appreciated. Would it be hard to do it myself or have it done professionally?

Fluid film. Tons of threads on it. It's sold at home improvement stores as well as a lot of auto parts stores.

Fluid film is the name of the brand. 4-6 cans would be plenty

No problem. Lots here have done it including me. It's not bad to do. A little messy and a little smelly a few drives after but it works great.

Just saw couple utube videos. I'll do this after my instal. Saw them spraying on anything metal: frames, underbody, rear axle, leaf springs, inside metal holes and openings, is that what you guys did?

I had the local line-x guy spray mine with Krown. They guarantee no rust if the truck is new and if you get it redone annually. I also happened to spray it myself right before winter with fluid film. Ounce of prevention and all, you know.

Just spray over the rust with black paint and forget about it. :)

sounds like a good inexpensive method to prevent rust. Does fluid film eventually dry? I've used NAVEL JELLY ON RUST. It covers it, creates a chemical reaction, turns it black and stops the rust. N JELLY needs rust to work.
If I have NO Rust will the FLUID FILM prevent rust? Again does it ever dry???

Paint wont stick to rust. They need something to stop the rust near rhe beach and up north. FF sounds good if it will eventually dry.
I got the front mats they work well.

Will it wipe off a year after applied? Will driving thru lots of water or pouring rain rinse it off? Not knowing I would say yes to all 3 above.
I'm trying to understand how it stays on... Tell me how how it stays on long term??

Lots of chemicals cure and stay pliable but are dry to the touch. When I hear DOES NOT DRY I think it's wet to the touch.
Pliable is good. Silicone rubber is PLIABLE but it dries oUT or CURES and is not tackey or wet to the touch. And it won't wipe or rinse off. Maybe a better description for Fluid Film is it CURES but is still flexable.
But is FFilm still WET or TACKEY?? Hopefully not. Thanks just trying to understand.

Be careful with Fluidfilm. I had a 2016 Silverado and sprayed that stuff under it and two days later all the wax (black coating) came off the frame!!! Fluidfilm repsonded by only stating "that happens sometimes".
    WTF !?!?!

Great to know, I'll probably try a small part and see if anything happens. So what did you end up doing thinblueline54 with your truck underbody?

I traded it but lost my ass. Fluidfilm ruined the frame, ate all the coating off to the bare metal that then started to rust. Really, stay away from that stuff!

Been using fluid film for years both at work and on personal vehicles and I swear by it. I also use POR15 with a top coat of Tremclad paint to protect it from UV’s. Been using this method of my 80 series Landcruiser and my Jeep Rubicon and has saved both and will do the same on my 19 crewmax as well. Also wash your undercarriage ever time you wash your vehicles to remove salt dirt build up and grime.
