The window trim on my truck has lost it’s black rubber molding, and is showing chrome. Not a huge fan of the chrome, what have you guys done to fix the problem? But new trim? Paint it?

I used the duplicolor bumper and trim paint (flexible) with a nice satin finish. Much cheaper than buying new.

Nice. I sanded mine and sprayed it with Rustoleum Bed Liner and then top that off with a satin spray. Its been holding nicely for almost two years now. $ave!

Got a pic of that? I'd like to see the texture finish - that may be closer to factory anyway.

I can post an archive pic of the door trims/side stepboards/wheel flares painted with just the liner stuff (no top coat). The red accent is a Duplicolor Acrylic Enamel top coat. Not really a good angle of the window trims. Mine were not as bad as some others I have seen, but in time would have gotten to be. I just taped things off and prepped and sprayed all of my black trims with the Bed Liner. Its a nice light textured grit with a good matte type sheen.

I removed the trims on my Tundra, used the heat gun to soften the remaining rubber, and used razor knife to remove them. Once there's only the chrome left, sanded rough with 120 grit sandpaper. I then sprayed primer on it, then sprayed with matte black paint, and finally is matte clear coat. They look like new.

Vinyl car wrap works great and you have options for finish. I've done the carbon fiber look on another vehicle
