I do my very best not to hit, or get hit by anything while driving... I really don't want to field test the structural integrity / safety features of my vehicle or anyone else's.

Yes, I know I'm awful/terrible/insensitive/a jerk/a dick, and no I don't care. Dark humor is a natural coping mechanism for bad situations.

My god. That's a really bad one.

Is this another vehicle or the former roof/cab of the Chevy?

That is the detached cab of the chevy. Just below what you circled is the firewall.

That's awful. Those 2 lane highways with no divider scare me worse than the interstate. All it takes is 1 vehicle to drift a few feet at the wrong time and it's over. I'm always extra vigilant when driving on those.

Grew up with them in Wyoming, but you are not wrong. It's a very sketchy situation. Even scarier since the cell phone/texting age.

My neighbor died like that a few years ago. They think he crossed the center line of a 2 lane 55mph highway while messing with his cell phone and ran head on into a concrete truck. He was driving an old school pre-tacoma toyota pickup. It burst into flames and both vehicles ran off the road into a pasture. Days later I rode by the scene and you could see skid marks from the concrete truck but nothing from the toyota and a burnt spot in the pasture and broken fence where the vehicles finally stopped. Horrible ..... I remember this whenever I am tempted to use the phone while driving.

I hear you. We have a highway that runs between my town and where @Mountun Goat lives called Highway 40. It's a 2 lane highway that is twists and turns, up and down through the foothills into the mountains. Beautiful drive. Very few passing lanes. The first 130kms heading south from my town can be scary. There's a ton of oilfield traffic on that section. Big rigs driving way too fast, oil workers in a hurry to get to and from work, people impatient and making stupid passes to get around a big rig crawling up a hill. There's a couple bad crashes every year.

That’s a scary highway. Not only are all the assholes racing home after their shift, but once in a while peeps decide to shoot at you with shotguns from their truck on the highway too.

Terrible accidents you all have posted. Hope they were quick and painless.

Used to drive quite a bit in the north Maine woods during both summer and winter (the roads shown on American loggers). Open dirt roads with 200,000 lb trucks going 45-55mph. Would clench up pretty good when I saw one coming the opposite direction.

Once pulled over during the winter on a bend next to a marsh so a friend could take a photo of a moose; odds of a truck coming by didn’t seem that high. Well, a loaded truck flew by and unloaded his air horn on us.. there was no clench on that one

Oh yeah, there's that too. We should rename it Mad Max Highway. :D

Fortunately, once you're south of Grande Cache, it's alot better.

Seems nobody can keep their shit on their own side of the road these days. I know a lot of them do it to me when I'm driving my toy car but I get right on the line and move at the last second. Have made a few overcorrect and almost hit the ditch. Plus my horn has been upgraded to 150db and I lay on it.
