So I pulled my factory bed liner to finally take a look at how much rust I'm dealing with in the bed, and it's a lot. The bed floor is completely rusted through in several spots and it's rusty around 4 of the 6 bed mounting bolts. I got a sheet of corrugated metal from Jegs a couple years back for this repair but it doesn't match up too well with the Toyota bed. I'm going to pull the bed off and completely repair the floor and the mounting points. Does anyone know where I can find some corrugated metal bed floor panels for a 2003 Tundra? If that's even possible.

Maybe check for better condition beds on wrecked trucks?

I'm in the same boat as you, Chris.. I found a couple junk yards out west (Arizona) that have pretty clean beds, and they're not too terribly expensive. Shipping adds a bit, but you could have a rust free bed for less than 1200-1400 dollars, delivered to your house.

The other option is possibly find a local bed that you can cut the floor out of and use it to patch the areas that are bad. That might be what I do later in the summer when I get to that point. I'm still working under the front of the truck repairing the frame rust...

Myself personally, if see what the wreck ok ng yards have, but, 17 years old it may be slim pickin's. A lot of yards don't keep inventory much past 8-10 years old. That would probably be your best bet honestly.

There are a lot of these trucks out on the road still and many are reaching retirement age right about now... I'd go for a junkyard bed swap.

Maybe you can leave your info with these yards and get a notification when one comes in?

I looked all night online and could only find patch panels for old toyota pickups. Which looks like it could work in the middle of a first get tundra bed but who knows. But I need patches near the sides of the bed and it's a strange pattern on the first gen tundra. I'm doing this on the cheap so I'm at the point where I'm just going to find a guy with a big sheet metal brake, buy some 1/8th inch sheet and have him put the proper pattern in it, or close enough. Use that for the patches, use some kind of angle or channel for new supports underneath, weld it, seal it, paint it, and drop the factory liner back in. Hopefully it goes to plan hahaha.

Can't you just do flat patch areas? Just cut back to other clean rest free flat areas.

If you're a DIYer than an unconventional way is to buy a parts truck and swap and fix everything at once..

Here's a little before and after. I wish I would've taken a picture of the bed before I spot welded the patches in. I just squared up the holes best I could with an angle grinder. I am going to coat top and bottom with KBS Coatings Satin Black and caulk all the seams with black silicone, then throw the factory liner back in. I will put up picturesIMG_7654.jpg IMG_7685.jpg when it's 100%. Should be solid for the rest of the time I own the truck and probably longer.

I know this is kind of an old thread, but I too am having issues with the rust in my bed. What thickness steel did you use? TIA!

When I did my bed, I used 1/8th inch steel plate, since it was a little easier to work with. I welded in flat panels, and then bent the ribs and welded those over the flat plate, to reconstruct the bed floor pattern.
I have photos in my rebuild thread, if you need a reference.

I noticed while looking up a part number for another member needing tailgate bumpstops the other day, Toyota used to sell the bed floor separately as a weld-in part.

The part is discontinued but you may be able to find online or in overstock under either p/n 65311-0C010 or p/n 653110C010 if you have a '00-'06 access cab/non-stepside specifically. There would be several other variations using a (likely) different part number:

    - Access cab, stepside
    - Double cab, stepside
    - Double cab, non-stepside
    - Regular cab, long bed non-stepside
    - Regular cab, long bed stepside (did they make one? i dunno)
    - Regular cab, short bed stepside (did they make one? i dunno)
    - Regular cab, short bed stepside (did they make one? i dunno)

I don't think they made the RC in a short bed, so I'm betting at least two are invalid, and there may be more configurations I didn't list. I just see you have an AC in the '00-'06 range like me, so I quoted our part number.

Anyway, I'm damn near certain SOMEONE out there makes an aftermarket weld-in floor.

I have some rust in the bed floor of my 2004 DC. Couldn't find any direct fit patch panels, so I ordered two of these 2ftx4ft panels for an older C10 that should hopefully be close enough, so I can repair the rusted parts.

If the ribs line up, that would be fantastic. Way easier than fabricating the whole blasted thing...

I mean, if you're going to go the trash route, don't forget to shoot some expanding foam in there to hold it up when the bed frame rusts apart, too. But I mean, if you can't see the damage, it's not really there after all.

They still did a frame replacement on your 01? I thought it was 15 years max.

NP, and a lot of us '04-'06 owners are waiting, wondering if Toyota will ever open it up for the rest of the 1st gen trucks.
