I'm pretty new on this Forum and have posted a few times and received some great ideas. I'm a retired old guy that has been around the off road hobby for a long time. I've had several off road capable vehicles in the past. My last truck was a 05 Chevy 1500 Z-71 that was mostly used to tow my small travel trailer to the desert and the Tahoe area. This Tundra will be used the same so not really into trail stuff any more. I volunteer for a large off road racing team and help with support and run parts and such.
OK, on to the Tundra. This is it stock.

Welcome. Jealous of your spray liner. Mine came naked and I still haven't fixed it, well, bed mat

As you can see, it came with a Spray in Bed Liner. I did my first upgrade to day, I installed the ESP Under rear seat storage. I was really surprised on how little storage the truck has. This product is real well made and a good design. They are a vendor on this site. It's a fairly easy install but a bit challenging doing by myself but doable.

The things that I'm thinking about doing are, Bilstein 5100 front shock for leveling, Powder coat wheels for the TRD Pro look but a different color, BFG KO2 tires, Amp Research steps and Ride Rite air bags with compressor.

I really like Nittos. I've had several sets of BFGs and don't have any complaints, I'm just no a fan of the new AT design. I'd like to try a set of Ridge Grapplers.

Your ESP storage system is making me jealous too....haha

I had the severe snow rated BFG KO's on my Chevy truck and they were awesome in the snow. I don't drive in the snow that much as I live in So Cal but visit Lake Tahoe a lot. I have never had Nittos but should look into them.

Things are moving along, my bed box (not shown yet) is at the spray in bedliner guy to get coated to match the truck bed. I'm going over to put a deposit on the KO2's. The 5100's came today. I talked to the powder coat guy and finalized the color "Titanium Silver" (I wanted something a bit different from black). The powder coating, tire install, 5100 install and alignment will be next week. Working out the prices for the TRD grill and bulge, Amp Research steps and Ride Rite air bags with compressor

Nice truck OP, why do some Tundras have the inside of the bed stamped Tundra (under rear window) and some don't?

Usually the ones that have the Tundra stamped in the bed are done by Toyota prior to selling, and the ones without the Tundra are aftermarket (like if you take it to a place to get it Line-X'ed.

Scratched a couple of things off my want list. The original wheels got powder coated, put on BFG 275/70R18 KO2's and put on Bilstein 5100's at the middle setting. I'm liking the changes.

Thanks Lenny, I really liked the look that you have so went that direction. Mine are a bit darker and if we get some sunshine I'll get a better picture. I'm happy with the look. There is a race coming up and I'll get a chance to see how it tows. Hopefully the air bags will be here by then.

Time for a update. Got the TRD Pro grill and bulge on and Ride-Rite air bags with compressor. With those the truck has Powder Coated stock wheels, BFG 275/70R18 KO2's, Bilstein 5100's on the mid setting and ESP Under rear seat storage. I have the AMP Research auto steps and will get them on in the near future. I'm leaving Wed for a off road race in Parker, AZ so will be towing my small travel trailer for the first time with this truck. I'm hoping that it will do at least as good as my Chevy 1500 did.

Looks great Larry. I tow a 8000lb travel trailer and it does fine. Just use that tow haul mode. I have 4:88's, but a much larger tire too. Let us know how it goes when you get back from Parker......

Thanks Lenny, I'm a bit apprehensive with all the posts about the controller. I'm going to get the trailer from storage tomorrow and take some time to set it up. Yes, I'll post a report about the trip.

I'm happy with the way it towed over the weekend. It is stronger than my 05 Chevy Z-71 Crew Cab 5.3. I'm getting use to the more sensitive steering. I did a report on "What do you tow" https://www.tundras.com/threads/what-do-you-tow-with-your-tundra.238/page-17 . The race was fun and out the five truck we were supporting we has one first, a second in class 10, a 7th in Trophy Truck and two DNF's.

@oul Larry, your truck looks great. I think the middle setting on the 5100s is just right. I'm curious how the 5100s feel (compared to stock) now that you've had them a while. Thanks.

Thank you. The are a little bit stiffer than stock but I like how they feel. The truck feels solid and a bit less sway in the corners. I'm leaving tomorrow for the Mint 400 off road race near Las Vegas so will put a few hundred miles on it. When I get back, I'll do a update as I've added AMP Power steps and Firestone air bags for towing.

Thanks, Larry. I forgot to ask ... did you add the diff drop, or do you think it's needed? Every person I talk to has a different opinion on whether it's needed for the middle setting. Thanks.

I did not. If I was going with a bigger lift I probably would. Plus I'm past the hard core off road stuff so in my opinion, not needed.

Great looking truck. How much did you pay to powder coat your wheels?

    Thanks,
