Great job! Glad you went with oem studs and locking nuts. Did you end up using the gaskets that came with the headers?

When you removed them, did you go for the nuts or the studs, or which let loose first? Also any PNs for the studs and nuts?

My steering column seal had a tear in it. I was able to reach up from laying on my back and squeeze some acrylic caulk around the seal partial torn lips. This is an option for those not wanting to disconnect column and replace the seal. Cheap fix at .10c with the caulk.

Just read through this thread which popped up during my ban time. Great info. Summarizing:

    1) JBA shorties are good!

    2) Use JBA included gasket.

    3) Buy Toy OEM Studs and Bolts.

Gibson Shorties look good. I’ll check their site.

There was mixed responses on this one. Keith from DD told me to use JBA gaskets with his long tubes. Most everyone else says to use Toyota OEM gaskets. Apparently Percy gaskets are also good.

For JBA shortys, the supplied collector gaskets are good to go. For the header gasket, I went with percy’s seal 4 good 66080 on the recommendation of fellow users. The oem stud/lock nut combo works really well. No need for constant retorque.

Ye. I’m reviewing and saw some complaints on the JBA ‘cardboard gasket’ sucking. I’ll go down this Percys route on some research tomorrow. Thanks for this.

Guessing I should order some OEM bolts for both the flanges connections going to the middle pipes? Mine look rusty and crusty. Might need to grind down and punch those old ones out.

I’m liking the Made in USA Doug Thorley Ceramic Coated. Currently sold out due to ‘Stemillus’ and everyone sitting around the house collecting checks with nothing to do but fix their fences and work on trucks.

Read the first two pages and then skipped to the pre-prompted feelgood pivotal post #160. Continued on to the last two pages and feel let down on shit scam products. WTF is going on with everyone and crap labor skills and products?

Makes me want to go tighten my 18 year old manifold nuts and call it a day!
