Hey Y'all. I was looking to see if I could put either a 10 inch sub or 12 inch sub in my truck (06 Doublecab), underseat or otherwise hidden. The only pre - made enclosures (that I could find) are for 8 inch subs, and I would like to go bigger. Does anybody have any ideas as if a 10 or a 12 would fit? And how did you do it? Thanks

A shallow 10 maaaaaaaaybe, 12 no way. Get a hold of a 10 and pop open the compartment to see if it's gonna work.

There used to be a JL audio stealth box that went under the center console. Held a 10" sub. Ate up most of the center console space inside. Under the seat, the cubic feets are gonna be limited which will limit which subs will sound good there. a shallow mount that needs less cubes and less depth may work, I would go the custom route. Build your own or have a shop build one for ya. Gotta be more space there than in these AC's.

Looks like a 10 to me. I think it should be pretty easy to build a box on this side, the other side is pretty small. If you're going to build it yourself pull the carpet back and see if any panels on the false floor can be unbolted, that would make it easier to build a box into the compartment.

The JL Audio solution is still out there but it’s around $700 unless you can source a used one. Sucks that you lose the storage but I’ve heard one and it was pretty awesome..

If I remember correctly I think a shallow 10 is the biggest you can do under the back seat without actually cutting out that compartment and building a box. I researched a bunch before doing mine and it seemed like two 8's was the optimal setup under the rear seat (also I was going for SQ over SPL). I just dynamatted the compartment to seal it and put the 8's in a 3/4" MDF top plate and screwed that onto the compartment.

8s are so much easier to work with. It's a shame that the model specific units are so expensive for these trucks.
