I know there are differences in the 2014 cluster and the 2015...mainly, where the ambient outdoor temperature is displayed in the lower right-hand side adjacent to the odo/trip...at least for the 2015s, that's where it is...on the 2014s, one needs to switch their display to show it as a Jitterbug phone or remote might display such information...this has "briefly" been explained to me on how to make it work, but could or does anyone have any experience in attempting such a swap? The harness connections look identical between the two, but I'm wondering if it is indeed "that easy" to just swap in a refined cluster from the 2015+ into my 2014 and I'd have the temp gauge visible without needing to sit in the backseat to read it...Any suggestions? I assume it's a "waste of money" but knowing is half the battle I suppose...

Wouldn't you have to get your odometer calibrated at the dealership if you swapped clusters so it would work?

There are likely tons of unforeseen issues with such a swap, and I definitely wouldn't consider it
. I've worked with a shop that deals exclusively with cluster work and they're a very good resource for compatibility issues, I'd recommend you give 'em a call. https://www.instrumentclusterstore.com/Toyota_instrument_clusters.htm
