Just installed the RCI skid plate yesterday - it was pretty easy and fits perfectly. I didn’t have any of the issues others reported about missing hardware, etc.

Just ordered RCI Aluminum at 15% off with coupon "november"; made sense for my DD and uses...plus cool factor!

Evan @RCIoffroad was super helpful and quick to respond; so excited to put on some quality kit.

Also, I saw a few numbers on different posts so wanted to share what RCI sent: "...aluminum engine skid plate weighs 29lbs (steel 42lbs)"

So which skid plate did you get? Does the lift cause issues with the plates fit?

I got steel. Full skids rci and no issues to be honest. But you don’t need a skid for the gas tank if you crush it on a tank you will prob do more harm then good

How much was your RCI Skid plates back then? I was shopping for one right now because it’s about time to get skids with filter door and ended up getting the TRD Pro instead of the RCI. RCI was my first choice because I thought it will be cheaper. I want aluminum and RCI’s aluminum options are 450 bare and 495 powder coated. They are running a sale right now but the TRD Pro is still cheaper as I got it for 424 after tax. $392 was the price and shipping is free because I will be picking it up at our local toyota dealer. I’ve done my research here and majority recommended RCI because of the price. Now, I’m wondering how much was their skids 2-3 years ago. Man, I hate inflation.

Thanks for your input. I already have a heavy ass catalytic shield that is a steel. Adding a steel skid plate will add more weight to the truck. Hence, I’m shopping for aluminum. I’m not doing any rock crawling at this point of time. Bare aluminum RCI with applied coupon plus shipping will still cost me more than the TRD Pro Skid. I believe RCI skids was way cheaper back then than now.

bullet liner is supposed to be next gen stuff ....I used it to re-do my running boards that started to flake off. I got powder coated skid plate aluminum from vahaila shield including cat guards they are great but he is having delivery and customer service issues that I never experienced.

So this thread has some new posts. I just ordered a whole set of RCI skid plates with cat guards. Cat guards were free when ordering the transmission and TC skid plates and got a tax weekend discount. They said like 2-3 wks. I noticed due to inflation the prices are much higher than some of the prices paid listed here. I just got this Tundra this January. I almost got the TRD skid plate but I wanted it all black and wasn't going to paint it and couldn't justify the extra costs when the RCI is just as good, cheaper and stronger.

Does anyone here have the TRD Skid Plate with a front hitch? Wondering how it fits and if the access door still works with the front hitch mounted.
